Novel idea for a neat minimalist design, but has huge balancing issues on some of the last maps. The game is missing some basic RTS controls, like factory output routing. The mechanics of missiles and point defense are muddy and not immediately evident, and it's hard to figure out tactics because it's not transparent what gives the edge in combat.
Not much of a game here, but the writing is genuinely funny and the presentation is a real treat. Too bad you have to play the game many times to see all the endings, given how the game mechanics don't offer much in the way of meaningful choices - I don't want to click through the random gameplay again. Was fun with all the jokes and whatnot, though!
Suffers from the fatal flaw of mediocre TD games - the same strategy works for every level. Stack up those plasma turrets, because they cover everything with a huge range. Use any other armor destroying turret and nothing gets through. The game becomes a snorefest with pretty StarCraft inspired graphics. Twenty towers, more than half is useless - this is not good game design.
Really nice game! But mere compliments don't help much, so here's what bugged me the most: The combat should have more subsystems. It just isn't engaging now. It's seems like a wasted opportunity - the game has six different kinds of weapons that are functionally the same, right down to all stats except elemental damage. There could be different stuff you find in any RPG, like special abilities that would enable strategizing (the cannonballs don't achieve this). And why not forge armor? I think your audience could handle a bit more complexity, the target demographic isn't exactly the same as the one your Papa's Gameria targeted until now. :)
Excellent art, good writing and an imaginative world building - sadly, you don't deliver much of a game to all this, only a very brief sequence of dialogs that amount to very little, and a puzzle that requires you to randomly pick up random tools from random locations to solve.
It makes me sad, especially considering all the effort you poured into this. Maybe you should team up with a more adroit game maker and make something really kick-ass in this world of yours?
ove the game, but the battle animations are kinda slow and there's some grind to go through to unluck stuff. Needless grind, it would be much more fun to have stuff unlock faster.
I liked your game a lot! The ray mechanics work nice and are really cool! Also, the boss fights showed some novel ideas you could do with the ray thing, some enemy waves were also well-designed, but you pad the game out and is repetitive on most of the levels. I don't like how your upgrade system breaks the whole missile interception mechanic, since shield upgrades practically negate the damage and you aren't really forced to pay attention to missiles - I only found out I could destroy the rockets by accident in one of the later levels, and I only died in the boss levels and the one with a ton of APCs. Good game nonetheless, I like it! :)
This game is a grindfest. I killed obscene amounts of identical monsters without a trace of challenge in the half hour I gave it. If I want to be bored while pushing buttons the same way for hours straight, I'll take another shift at work.
