i know that there's a random element to it - but every now and then i run into a soldier who gets 3 weapons worth of clips loaded into him and still kills me. ... it wouldn't be so bad if i hadn't just taken his buddy out with a few pistol shots.
A string of 20 days attendance was broken because of server connectivity - four different times over the day I tried to show up, but was told "you don't exist, sorry!". I like the game 'n all, appreciate all the effort, don't get me wrong; I know the internet is a fickle mistress. But, well, when I care and the server-side failure isn't acknowledged, I feel like my give-a-damn is being ditched with no regard.
screw the green levels. seriously. like the game, but when you get 10 spells in a row - and limited ones at that - there's no strategy, no upgrading, just getting railed on.
liking it, except for one aspect. with the laser... well, it's one of those things. if i can tell that i just shot someone in the face, it's frustrating for it not to do anything.
this isn't complaining about the programming choices so much as the gaming aesthetics. i'm so used to the convention 'when in doubt, shot them in the head' that when i'm getting swarmed, i go for the head without thinking. watching said beam pass through is a wee bit frustrating.
good game, though. maybe i'm just venting.
the hidden menu bar is a good idea... except that it's at the top, and the -goal- is to go up.
at least a few times, i've tried to click with some precision, only to realize that the upper dead zone had led me astray.
flipping is fine, annoyance can add to a game... it's that you have to -wait- to be annoyed.
plus it doesn't help that, when the flip thing stacks, you have to wait... just to still be inverted and, now, exponentially annoyed - because you had an inversion rhythm going which was interrupted just to remind you that, yes, this will continue. O.o
not sure if it's a game issue or a flash issue - accidentally hit the right mouse button, and the audio zap effect began looping, superceding all other audio and continuing even through the main menu.
minor issue; enjoying it otherwise.
"...and so the soulless creatures of the night were mercilessly pummeled by santa as he went about his rounds." "even the cute penguins?" "oh, of course, little timmy - don't you see? they were in santa's way!"
defense... no idea what's going on. getting smacked if i stand in the way without doing damage; being told i'm doing it wrong if they go by. and there are x's: but do they mean that's where i'm able to hit, or where i can't?
the crane failed to load anything onto the conveyor belt. this wasn't a physics-counteraction thing; it picked the items up, and let them go in a backwards motion. ... and then smacked me in the head.
there's a difference between failure and flat out impossible cruelty.
had a good time - up until about 4:20 (strangely enough). around that point, the opponents get tougher, while the weapons get ridiculously weak against them.
i'm not complaining about the necessity to intelligently use weapon ammo; i'm raising the issue that, when there are five yellow robots charging you, opening four power-ups and finding 3 chocolate santas and a frisbee just seems... mean.
The trebuchet is a nice idea - but the way it's implemented, it's like a penalty, not a bonus. If you don't use it, no bonus logs show up - and if you do, you waste precious seconds building the bastard while the computer is getting its continuous stream of upgrades.
Fix it or remove it - or just admit to everyone that it's a random penalty.
