I'm 2 days into my game and I've just done my first reset because that's how long it took me to get 40 recruits. That feels too slow. For me, the game is too inactive in general. Yes it's an idle game but when I want to play it for 5 minutes or so there's nothing to do after my first click or two. More tool tips please. I can't seem to activate anything useful in the specialist map even though I waited for the recommended number of recruits before I reset. So more hand holding/tutorial there would be lovely. I see you've had a comment about the version number issue so I'll leave that. I did notice that there seems to be a mistake in the "Geothermal Plant" blurb on the Specialist page. It says that you divide the cost of extensions by 0.010 and I assume that should be 1.010.
I'm having problems with rest. I've tried several play throughs and the rest button in the top right corner always warps at some point (it gets much smaller and the text disappears). Once that happens the button stops functioning and rest no longer automatically triggers when I run out of stamina. Only clearing my cache fixes the problem and starting again. If I load a save from my computer, even one from before when the button problem triggers, it causes the button to warp and rest to no longer auto trigger. Having to give up on playing :(
You should definitely continue the project, it's nice to see a civ type game. I will say though having played through this a couple of times, there seems to be something very weird going on with merchants and the food/gold income balance. Even after I had all the upgrades for food and gold income, I had to kill a bunch of people to get down to 9 population to get to a point where I could maintain an increasing food and gold income simultaneously and then the problem seemed to disappear.
Yes this tweaking is way harder than i had expected. Especially with happiness being involved. I believe I will have to work on it for almost every single update
I love the concept but the quality of life on the game play needs a lot of work. I really want to be able to do more with my Tachyons. The current upgrades feel like they should be relatively cheap and that I should be able to do something like buy start out money/skills, reduced costs, speed bonuses etc. The auto boost doesn't seem to work correctly (mine always waits for the Conference to be up regardless of whether I click the option for that or not). I'd really like some transparency on how new lives become easier. How much easier? Can I influence how much easier? What are the factors involved? Is it just a flat amount?
At the moment this really feels like it's lacking a way to meaningfully increase my efficiency and make the game less attention intensive as I play so there aren't enough incentives to keep playing.
Thanks for your feedback! Some good ideas for the market. The Autoboost should wait until unlocked boosts (possibly except conference) are available, then use them at once, to exploit stacking effects. If you can confirm different behaviour, that's a bug. It's not supposed to fire each boost immediately when it's ready. As for bonus when starting a new life, there's some info in Journal -> History. You progress faster in each skill/job depending on your max level in that job in previous lives. E.g., level 10 Burger Flipper in first life -> double Burger Flipper progress in next life, level 20 -> triple speed, etc
I'd love to see some quality of life updates that make farming prestige less soul destroying in mid/late game. A one click that buys all the gifts and dates, even if the cost was 2 (or more) times the total price of those gifts and dates would be a huge improvement.
Enjoying this so far. The two things I would love to see are higher contrast in the UI because I'm genuinely struggling to read some of the numbers and explanatory tooltips because some of the little representative images are ambiguous and I'm not sure what some of the things are actually used for.
