In the first game there is an obscure message on a wall saying something like "Little Cody is lost without his tiger." In the farthest room of the dark hallway after the spinning lever you can find a plushie tiger among the toys on the floor. If you go to the room with the bunk beds, each of the beds has a name tag. Put the tiger on the bed with the name Cody to get a nice easter egg at the end of the game.
Also I found this set up really good for heavenly playthrough:
Handicaps:
1. One heart
Cheats:
1. Extra bombs 1
2. Extra bombs 2
3. Auto bombs
4. Foes drop bombs
Also use an invincibility duration costume
If a level is still giving you trouble try getting the item drops, they can help a lot and dont cost much multiplier. Finally try tweaking bullet speed and damage up or down as needed for each level you try to tackle.
For those badge hunters, if there are some bosses giving you trouble you might try pacifist mode. Here are some settings that I recommend:
Options:
1. Turn off background particles
2. Turn off background scrolling
3. Turn on high contrast mode
4. (optional) Turn on invert slow button
Handicaps:
1. Pacifist
2. No death-bombs
3. Attack -5%
4. Attack -10%
5. Attack -15%
Now you have a 1.35X score multiplier to buy cheats.
Cheats:
1. Foes drop hearts
2. Foes drop shields
3. Bullet speed -5%
4. Bullet speed -10%
5. Bullet speed -15%
6. Extra heart 1
7. Extra heart 2
You should also use a costume that grants longer invincibility after taking damage.
This leaves you with a 0.61x score multiplier which is just enough to 1 star a level. Now you have 5 hearts, you might get a heart or shield after a wave, you can hide in any corner of the screen you want, bullets are slower than normal mode, and you only have to deal with 10 waves not 13. I 1 starred all the bosses with this tactic.
Totally crap that i get owned by 2 or more guys every time, if you are going to let the enemies stack up like that then i need some mechanic BESIDES respawn invincibility to kill them.
Thank you for allowing keyboard control customization. Oh, it's not that I don't use a qwerty keyboard (I do) it's just that an assassination isn't complete without a solid teabag and sticky keys was gettin in the way.
86,771 micrometers, oh yeeeaaahhh. Granule cell? What's that? *clicks link* "Granule cells are the smallest cells found in the brain and are an extremely small type of neuron." God d*** it.
I keep getting this glitch where if I miss a shielded enemy on the last attack of my combo, on all future turns I continue to deal no damage to them until I break their shield with it's weakness. It still says they are taking damage, but their shield bar doesn't go down, even if I hit them a dozen times.
Wow really? That says a lot! Thanks lad!
