The graphics are wonderfully oldschool, as is the gameplay and amount of replayability. It's one of the few games I've come back to and played all the way through more than once on Kongregate. I would love a sequel.
DEFINITELY need a PvP option.
There is a definite lack of AI. PC opponent just used Betrayed on me when I had no creature summoned and a +6 life card on itself when it was 1 away from max.
-Like a lot of the best Flash games here, this tons more potential than we'll probably ever get to see (make a sequel in the near future!) But all around a very fun game as-is.
-Definitely need a deck building capability, and more pre-round strategy options. Relatively luck-based, but enough to skill to keep it entertaining. Not enough replayability, though.
-Very different, but all-around better card game than Kongai.
The final boss is more or less nonstop button holding + mashing. I got him down to about 20,000 this first time before he destroyed my castle. Blarrrvm! Wish there was a tad more strategy
I love how the walkthrough has become a disease, taking over more and more of the comment section as time goes by. I wonder if the initial writer was witty enough to envision this when they first posted it...
Potential is definitely the key word here. The game is beautiful for Flash, the animations are great, the general concept is really fun, but there are 0 incentives to keep playing and no way to further your character as far as I could tell. Addictive for about 30 minutes until you realize you're not actually getting anywhere! 1/5. With some simple tweaks, it could become a 4/5. Ridiculous, I say!
It feels really weird throwing away so much loot and not being able to sell anything. An economy system (or at least basic shop somewhere on every level) would make it more interesting. I agree more classes and types/groups of monsters would too.
All that aside, it certainly had me addicted for a long time.
