But as for things that AREN'T as bad as you think they are -- the slippy ice controls get better as you level up running. That's supposed to be an annoying thing that is less annoying as you go on. When you lose all your stats at the end of the first day, you don't actually lose ALL your stats -- most importantly, you keep your "Learning" stat, meaning that you level your stats up much, much faster on subsequent days. And so, on the second night and beyond, when you've got actual decent skills, you CAN defeat the shadow and keep your skills. I can usually beat the game on the second or third day, having only had to beat the shadow once or twice.
A couple comments on a lot of the most annoying things in this game -- I do enjoy it, but it's got some weaknesses. But also some things that look like weaknesses that aren't, as much. The bugginess of the codex interface is the biggest one -- closing it seems to involve some random combination of hitting escape, space, x, and c, but I'm never sure exactly WHAT combination. Still, if I hit them enough, it works eventually. Mostly. The lack of a working save function is also annoying, since it means you have to play the entire thing in one sitting.
Wow, level 17 and level 24 are just plain harder than any of the other ones... got them eventually, but it took approximately 1.3 zillion tries each, and I am not entirely clear how I finally did either.
As far as the spirit orbs >100 thing goes -- I get the impression that interacting with some of the paintings can generate further ones sometimes. Could that be why some of the numbers are higher than anticipated?
Once a hidden orb has been found it shouldn't spawn again. To be honest I'm sure I just added too many to the game. I'm not going to remove them though, so everyone has the chance to find them all.
I saw that it was a Papa game, and thought to myself, "Well, that's why you can skip two challenges a week and still get the Gold Kongpanion." Nothing against the Papa's Pizzaria genre of game, but it's not my cup of tea.
But.. wait! No! It's actually a fun platformer! Hooray! I actually LIKE this one!
Having killed the Dark Lord at Oshora, I'm now looking at the gate to the nature realm, but the guard is still asking me about a Guardian with Nature Dust... did I miss that in the mines or something?
Any suggestions on where to look for raw emeralds? The only thing I can find in the Enemy Book that says they drop them is Terra Golems, and I don't think they spawn normally?
Am I missing something, or is this a thing for a future release?
So this is a story about a dragon who RESCUES princesses from dumb kingdoms and lets them live out their goals of being CEOs, nature gods, and demons, right? Which is why they help him out and hang out with him after.
Incidentally -- I'm blanking on who Detective Sighret is based on. Obviously, the other characters are Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Nero Wolfe, Arsene Lupin, but THAT reference goes over my head. Anybody less clueless than I am about it?
Thank you a lot for this nice comment!
