Gamemaniac: Right click the game screen and click settings and set the local storage to unlimited.
hexo: You get random information and sometimes random things, don't worry about feeding him unless you need a quest or achievement.
A tip: After you finish the young mage competition gain skill points by challenging mages in the arena rather then Mana cave it's much faster and you improve your ranking.

How to speed up the game: Download Cheat Engine (Cheatengine.org)this shouldn't be considered cheating as it speeds up the whole game. Open it, Go in Process list and select whatever process your web browser runs off then open it and just check in the speedhack box and set your speed hope this helps.
