@vitortk Some adventure events will give you a maximum increase to skills once you complete them. For example In Fazbit's Workshop completing an "Fazbit's Furnace" event gives you 0.001 increase to max Pyromancy.
@jenclimbs The advantage of using Subliminate Lore is that you take an initial hit to your overall cap on research because having Codices increase your maximum Lore by 15 each, but you spend 30 Codices to get an extra 10 maximum Lore. So let's say you had 800 Max Lore with 30 Codices. 800 - (30*15) = 350 + 10 = 360 Lore after Sublimating. Once you get back up to 30 Codices you would now have a max Lore of 810.
Quick Tip: Upgrading a City from Level 1 -> Level 2 is not usually worth it beyond the first few times. Unless you're aiming for a Level 2 City that would give it's bonus (+25% Tech) to multiple other cities the tech cost of building the city can be MUCH greater then the amount of time you might have left to turn a profit.
Knowing when NOT to upgrade is as important as knowing when yo upgrade.
Took a bit to realize that falling on spikes is dangerous only from high up. I suggest making a level that starts by forces the player to walk across spikes to show they're not dangerous. Then forces the player to jump down to the spikes from various heights. That way they can say "They're not dangerous unless I'm up here and I touch them. So I should try falling from a lower height." Of course that's just me being an armchair dev... you do what you do dude.
Oh, actually, that's not a bad idea. The second level of world five incorporated what you were talking about, and was originally the first, but I decided to change its position.
If you ever have trouble with a giant enemy with lots of HP try using poison weapons. Poison does % damage of the poisoned unit's HP. The bigger they are the harder they fall and all that.
One of the better "Free" Metroidvanias that I have ever played. The story was good and so were the graphics. The music didn't really set the mood too well as it seemed that it didn't matter what music played where as they all sounded the same to me. The biggest gripe I have is the controls however, and jumping is the big one. Might I suggest you either 1) Change double jumping (DJ) so that we can DJ after a glide. I can't tell you how many times I meant to DJ, but glide by mistake. Just a small fix like that could greatly improve the controls. Overall I say it gets a 4/5.
@AnTi90d 1) If you all you have to do is press "S" and then click on the plant. It's not really that hard. If you're upset about absorbing all the plants... don't do it. Just wait until you need the mana. 2) You have 8 decoy mages that the demons steal before they start taking the "real" ones. If you can't destroy the demons that are immune to physical damage you should invest in teleport to get your mages back sooner or just use runes to dispel them. Simple.
@Artemidius Sorry, double post... I just remembered that your Avatar Unit can pass through diagonals, but other units can not. Use this trick to create "shortcuts" for your Avatar.
@Artemidius Mining out houses nets you 3 gold a pop. Also don't be so quick to spend your gold only build what you need and wait for about ~350g for the first gold vault. Then when you want tp build the NEXT vault just add 100g to the minimum you built the last as. (Ex: 1st = 350g, 2nd = 450g, 3rd = 550g, etc.). I figure this is the break even point for money spent for the gold vault vs. money gained from interest without buying the Gold Vault. Oh... and focus on defending the area around your fortress at first... it takes a while to dig out some solid lairs in the last level. Hope this helps.
