Quality of life suggestions: 1) in the project settings, under player/resolution and presentation, select the minimal option. that will get rid of the frame around the game and allow the game to more easily fit on the screen. 2) let me restart the game with a push of the button. having to switch over to the mouse every time I game over is tedious and makes it hard to get into the game
Idea: make the center a protrusion instead of a cavity. I'm thinking maybe it doesn't occur to me that the maze is getting stuck on the center because there's nothing for it to get stuck on. I don't know if this is true, but it might be worth a shot
it seems like the game was designed so you have to press and hold, and that's what's harder than it seems, but you can just flick the hole instead. once you get the hang of flicking instead of dragging, the game gets pretty easy. it's also really not clear why the maze turns like it does, making it hard to get better at just dragging, and no incentive to get better at it.
So there is a long standing issues that I can't figure out.
Some people, like you, don't realize that the flag in the middle is physically stationary, and that you're rotating the maze around that stationary point. I've had a couple people now who did that and they all also started doing flicks instead of long drags.
1) No matter how much I twist my brain, it always seems super obvious to me (probably because I made the game.) I cannot understand how you're visualizing the game to save my life, its kinda like a blue/yellow dress...
2) Nobody I've talked to can figure it out either; several of the people who originally thought like you eventually realized what the game was doing either from playing more, or asking me, and they could no longer describe what originally confused them...
So if you have any idea, or some suggestions, or anything you think would help I would be incredibly interested in hearing it.
if you want to avoid the player beating the quiz by trial and error, you might want to consider having them have to type in the answer. that would also solve the problem of waiting to see the three answers, as the player would have to provide the answers himself.
Sweet! I like it a lot!
The quiz needs work. I beat it by trial and error. Honestly, that might be the best way to go about it, as the idea of groundhog day type loops lends itself to trial and error. as it is now, I only found out after beating the game that the answer options show up if you wait.
Another thing that can improve the game is forcing a restart if you talk to the time cop, so that failed runs can be restarted faster, although maybe that would invalidate the Gitd theme.
Thanks! Yeah unfortunately with the theme there was no way to force a restart, so I recommend trying to do the quiz first, such that you know if it's going to be a good run or not. I'm looking into what I can do with the quiz to make it a bit more friendly to solve.
first things first the graphics in this game are great. if you guys made it all, and you're interested, I'd like to work with you. contact me if you want.
The game design in this game could use improvement. peopleplaying your game (me included) are probably playing the first level, getting frustrated, and quitting. everything is thrown in your face at once, and the difficulty is brutal. There's no buildup to anything, things just sorta happen. The jump also feels kinda weird. I'm not sure, but I think it's because in a fast paced game like this I expect more control over my jump height.
well done on your first project. keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for your feedback! Seriously, this is REALLY helpful. All graphics are original work, made by us, the only thing we bought was the music and audio effects. About the difficulty, you are 100% correct. We've been talking and have decided to pull the game from Kongregate now, re-do a lot of stuff and re-publish. We are brothers who grew up with very difficult games and we're used to it, but we greatly misjudge that and the game is brutal to start with, which is really bad. That was a big mistake on our side. About collaboration, we would love to, but at this point we wouldn't have the time, because we do this on our free time. We have to manage this between family and our day-job as it is. But anyway, thank you so much for offering, you have no idea how helpful this is. :)
Opening menu is nice. other than that, there's not much to say. The camera feels awkward, and it's disorienting to play. The game itself is boring. the graphics are all unity default stuff, so it's not much to look at. It's way too early to even think about microtransactions, I'm afraid.
Weird, it works fine for me at 1080p. Check your browser zoom settings? (Press ctrl-zero to reset zoom to 100%). If I get some time later I'll bump down the default resolution
Thanks for letting me know! Can you try pressing the blue button with the arrows at the bottom right to go full-screen? Also, what's your screen resolution?
This game is weirdly boring and frustrating at the same time. the pace is slow, but I don't feel like I have control over my character, especially on the tilted paths. Have you tried increasing the speed of the game, and decreasing the acceleration and deceleration times? might help.
Another thing is that when I fall off, the game puts me back on with the same horizontal speed, which means I can easily fall off again. might want to set that to zero.
Congratulations on your first game. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for your review! Well i will work on making the game better! Sensitivity can be changed in settings and also try out impossible mode its fast paced. Enjoy
Where do I find that? I clicked edit on my game but it's only letting me edit the first page and that is not there.
