As an avid follower and admirer of your designing talents, I would like to begin with: This is crazy impressive development for a single person's efforts in TWELVE HOURS. That said, J&tG lacks a lot of the polish (enemy appearance bugs, iffy collision, poorly balanced upgrades/advancements, ambiguity of power weapons--as in I'm not sure what's going on really or when I can activate them) that brings your other titles much of their addictive appeal. I really appreciate your experimental style, Nerdook, and your exploration of design concepts. There's definitely a lot of ambition for mp3-defined bullet hells, but it'll need lots more polish. :3
This is more of an exploration of a concept rather than a game. Simply, it's a visual-interactive message inspired through the implementation of a picture (see description). Also, it made in a couple of hours and for purely the point of illustrating the message: Quit smoking. For that end, props. Quite interesting... .___.
For the game itself, I did dig the homage. None of the gameplay, obviously, was overly impressive and most of the game simply used a lot of Flixel basics. But the background effects, music, and writing was clever additions and led to a very moody experience. Kudos.
Nice game to nom away the minutes. Nothing new here but cute fun. Lovely flash game, but not genre-breakingly awesome in any way. Various modes could have been added for variety/challenge such as "pistol only" or "endless horde" or "multi-boss". In any case: 4.5/5.
My opinion is a 3/5. Fun concept, fun gameplay... but nothing stands out. Furthermore, any potential is ruined by the ear-bleeding music and repetition. I mean, I understand all games utilize the same controls to do the same things... but there are nothing innovative about the gameplay; the alternative modes are banal to cheap, and the blobs only change color and quantity... like wow. Meh for a good effort.
