@gameboy_nate: I tried to replicate what you mentioned, and I found that if you are walking and click away to another tab, your character seems to phase through the floor. What makes this interesting is that if you click to another tab while standing still your character is fine. Not sure what causes the problem, but I don't think it's too debilitating unless you're consistently clicking between tabs. However, if you kill yourself in the first room by falling through the floor four times before touching the checkpoint, a game over screen pops up that you can't interact with and you have to refresh the page.
