Fun concept, but way, way too easy. I completed every mission in the game with only the magazine upgrade on the first weapon. Maybe implement gun-specific challenges, to add some more content. But I'm sitting here, less than 45 mins after I start the game, having literally done everything there is to do except grind needlessly away at defense mode.
This game is what happens when the concept of Nano Wars is done correctly. Intuitive desgin, fun interface, full customization, and a load of fun to play. My only complaints are that it's about half as long as it should be and that the ends is very abrupt. Other than that, bravo.
It's a puzzle game with a timing aspect. Alright. That's standard. It's a different, and unique experience. That's fine. But it's not fun. There's no sense of accomplishment if you get lucky enough to land that silly idol on a block. It's simply a game that's just not fun.
Truely Excellent game. What better way to satisfy Badge-Hungry Kongregators than with Badges for a game that is all about Achievements?
Here's a little help:
Dont move until you get Longevity, collecting the color-changing ones, the quality, the scroll, hitting the spacebar, typing jmtb02, etc. Then hit the numbers in this order:
31425301234543210.
Contra Code: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
That should get most of the achievements right there.
The rest you can figure out easily!
Happy gaming!
I am increasingly disappointed by badge choices. This received badges over several other deserving and better games. But enough of be griping about badges, I'm here to gripe about this game. It's awful. The physics engine has gone to crap. "But Zelthax!" you may exclaim, "Gaps in towers WILL get bigger as the tower continues to sway, thus creating an endless cycle that will destabilize the tower! That's realistic!" And I reply, "Good point!" But I also respond with simple proof that there is, indeed, a wind. Build a tower out of nothing but green squares. You can let them fall naturally so as to have NO impact force. And then watch it as it WILL fall over around 300. How? You tell me. Also, if the creators went to so much trouble to create a weight factor, why doesn't that weight press inward on itself, thus STABILIZING the tower (assuming it's built well)? In specific instances of course, but still. The weight factor is felt pulling out, but not pulling in.
I come to Kongregate with high hopes each day, expecting new and exciting games. Many wonderful games are given badges, and I am enthused furthur, for these CERTAINLY are the best games, worthy of mention. I am SORELY disappointed with this particular choice of game. Achilles was epicly (bonus points for new word) bad, and this game has managed to take bad, put bells and whistles on it, and make it worse. And it's been honored with an Imposs badge. Games are supposed to be fun, and rewarding once you've played them for a while. This one manages to make the statement, "If you put time in effort into making you character/warparty awesome, you're screwed!" Not very rewarding.
Absolutely amazing game. Wonderful play, fair (but difficult) difficulty, excellent rewards system. 5/5 AND a Zelthax Badge of Approval.
Incidentally, I've heard claims of an award for getting mauled by a biter offscreen...and....I'm not getting it....
So, I would have to hold that Thing-Thing 2 is the best in the series. No all-too random healthpack drops, no frustrating key-finding, a very simple, easy-to-understand objective layout. This game is like taking the third Thing-Thing and making it less understandable.
