if you save and quit in the same room as the one where your companion needs saving and afterwards contiue the game, your companion will be standig without really saving him, this just worked for me so don't hate me if it doesn't work for you.

this game really didn't make sense...... That why it's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finished 2 too And can't wait till 3 is released!
