This was actually a pretty sweet game. Learned the terrifying way of not to go deeper than what you're able to. The ending/goal reminds me a bit of Motherlode, too, with the terrors that lie deeper down.
Getting all stars for each level has never been so dissatisfying. There's no secret unlock or anything? Just a few extra levels and different weapons? I suppose it holds its promise for a sequel, but it could've been so much more.
Winning strategy, save up for a gun, then keep building on that. Don't buy the last gun, it's shit.
I like how there's the original music at the title screen, but sorta hate how you use the exact same goddamn Age of War song throughout the entire game. We've heard that song at least twice already. You couldn't've come up with with a new song?
This feels like a vast improvement on the Mud and Blood series, but there are a few imbalances. For one, it gets fairly boring, after a while. It's nice that you're able to get new weapons after every mission, but it still doesn't really change the strategy too much. I've found that what works is just building two fortresses up front, upgrade them, then two more to make a four-fortress front, by the end of the second wave. After that, I put--I shit you not--15 10-man sniper trenches, and watched as any infantry soldier so much as stepping foot in their range be reduced to even less than swiss cheese. His bullet holes had bullet holes, and I simply feel that the enemy infantry could stand to be much more spammy and dangerous.
You're headed in the right direction, though. 3.75/5
If your refresh the page, the multiplier doesn't stick as corresponding to the achievements unlocked, and there's no way to get some of them added to the multiplier, again.
Tips:
To get Excalibur, complete Level 19 with the first gun.
To get Axia, upgrade EVERYTHING completely, and get a skill level of 99 in every weapon category.
An easy way of defeating Loki is to retreat to corners, and when shots close in, pause the game, move your cursor to the other side, and unpause it. Each time I tried it, the ship moved fast enough to clear each shot without taking any damage.
5/5 just for the awesome credits song. XD Very nice.
To get rid of smog: Remove coal-based factories, or cut back on flamethrowers. Farms produce smog, too, so don't have too many.
Advice on later levels: Build a good type of power plant IMMEDIATELY, otherwise provided buildings will deplete your energy until you don't have enough to buy a source for it.
