Absolute 5 stars. Game looks simple but so much thought put into the design to keep it elegantly simple for the best experience. A nice change from similar games that are overloaded with details that can make it overwhelming. Fun and hard to stop until finished!
Nice new concept of combining strategy, rpg/upgrades with a puzzle layout.. So glad I only started playing this after the saving was implemented - otherwise it would be frustrating to not be able to continue, because it is a bit long for one sitting yet it is addicting... It would be nice to be able to continue after defeating the final boss with all those cool upgrades - I clicked the shining orb only to realize it ends the game.. Also, on my MacBook Pro, the cooling fan always kicks in from overheating while playing the game - it would be nice if there is a lower resolution option to lighten the CPU load.
Fun, unique game, love the character design, mood and storyline that references many of the cool games and anime of the genre! I like the incorporation of kanji into the game, which conveys to me so much more what some of the skills mean, than the English translation.
I like the vast potential of the upgrades, but like others, feel lost trying to keeping track of them. How about a skill tree?
Now really sad that after a restart of my laptop, I lost all progress and everything is starting at zero :_( Kong display says that I was up to level 118. Is there a place I can look for my saved files???
Also, it's great that my wife can now have other ways to gain exp! I'd also like to see that she gains exp cooking omelets for me. Before this, I was almost about to restart my game to get a different wife, for the other abilities ;-)
Wow, was about to comment about the need to rebalance, when I see that the developer has already released an update today, to address that! Nothing but compliments on a great and fun time-management game, just thought rebalancing would make it even better... Agree with all the latest updated features. Also, one general comment I have is that there's a lot of stuff to do at the beginning of the game, but after a certain point, there's more idling/waiting required because with the exponential increase in upgrade requirements, even actively farming does not make enough difference to make it worthwhile. MAYBE that's something the developer can think about.
Pleasure to play this game. I already played several times through the alpha, and looking forward a more complete release soon! If is not in the feature list already, having the ability to browse through the completed paintings - with their titles, quality etc. would be a fun way to learn more about the classic artwork!
:) Actually, I DO think a lot about it, for not make the same mistakes on IF2.
