"Coalition of the Willing", what a stupid PR gimmick.
More like "Coalition of the Killing" or "Coalition of the Violent". Who fires the biggest guns?
I'm kind of repulsed at the name of this badge...
What bugs me about this game, is that I always have to think about whether the game knows the word...
I mean, it doesn't know a word like "asian", but "jitterbug" is just fine. Not only are names off limits, so are countries, swearwords and most modern words.
Other than that, super game.
This game resets my stats and feats every time I reload it. What gives? This is the only game that does this for me. Right clicking shows it uses just abot 1.5 meg of 10 allowed, and I have a lot more than that free on my HD.
I think my game is playing three different music tracks at once...
It's a shame they guy who made it didn't get the bugs sorted out before he released it, because that would have made it so much better. It has a lot of potential with the artwork, the ideas and so on.
A tip for the author:
I understand what people mean by it being repetitive, but I have one simple tip which would make a lot of difference I think:
Different music for later levels... 300 waves of the same tactics to the SAME music, gets repetitive. Another tip would be something you can pick up from the old platform games: New enemies with new abilities (not just a new sprite for the fireball/axe) tend to spice things up. All things considered though: Thanks for a good game :)
pokerdude: Thanks for the tip, but no go. I read that too. Refreshed the page, and got the medium badge somehow. But I even completed another level just to check. Still no hard badge :/. I made a screenshot the second time I did it though, so I'll report a missing achievement, send the screenshot to Kong, and see if they can fix it :)
Ok, I just did it again, twice, this time on "Temple of Weth". one was a 25x godlike, and the other was 23x I think. Still no badge though. I just leveled up to level 20, so I'll get the first medium badge now. Maybe that will help.
Ok, so I got a godlike combo of AT LEAST 23 (I stopped counting and thought to myself that the work was done) at the level directly above the "Temple of Weth" on the map (I can't see what it's called anymore, since I just beat it). This is normal difficulty setting, campaign mode, my first play through of the game (with my only character so far) and I used Charge, Attack Jump, Teleport, Stun Attack and Slambomb in the combo. I did the combo at wave 2 of 3, and finished the level. I waited for the badge to register for a while (the connected-icon was green), went to the main menu to see if that worked, got a message in the right flash frame that I was disconnected from Kong, a line in the main menu that I was connected to the Kong Api, got a green light and the error message gone again in the right flash frame, and still no badge. I'm not trying to blame the game here, but I'm wondering: Do you have to have a godlike combo of EXACTLY 20, no more, to get the hard badge?
I spent maybe half an hour trying to beat the "Tribute" level with small bombs, and didn't make it, even with 10 tries sometimes. Come back a bit later, and haphazardly click to throw the bombs... I'm wondering if it will fall at all, then the right part falls, then the structure collapses on the king and queen. Haha, first try, first shot! :D
Here's a guide to getting big distances in the game. Spend 5 minutes reading this, and you'll probably get the hard badge in just a few tries (if you have the tank and the golden gun):
One thing you will soon discover is that keeping going is not the big problem when you're starting to have tens of nukes stacked. You can keep going for a very long time if you really want to drag it out, and the game basically turns into a survival game. You will almost always be stopped by something that kills you, and that is the main challenge.
You might also discover that the nukes don't really give you that big a speed boost (compared to a big cannon/gun). Use nukes when you are dangerously close to coming to a halt. They're a sort of emergency kickstarter for you. Clicking nukes all the time to try to get far, will take ages, probably get you killed before you get anywhere far, and use up a lot of nukes. The main weapon for getting far is the _GOLDEN_GUN_.
Regarding staying alive, which as I said will be the main obstacle for the hard badge, PURCHASE THE CHEST BOMB. It's basically an in-game extra life, and when you're starting to make 100 000 for each shot, you can definately afford the 2000 for the chest bomb. Strap that to you before you launch, every time.
Using the gun:
One thing to realize is that real world physics, or at least the common game version of real world physics, definately don't apply here. First of all: Forces don't seem to stack very well. There seems to be a max speed, and a max height. Fireing your cannon (tank) at a 45 degree angle seems to be a good idea for reaching both max speed and max height.
Your gun is basically a set of extra cannon shots. Except that your character will BOUNCE off the gunshots, like it was a goompa or something. Again, this is not realistic, nor is it meant to be. Shooting the turtle on the way up, high in the air will not bring him much higher. Shooting him closer to the ground as he is falling will.
There are two reasons to keep your turtle high in the air:
1. It makes sure you avoid obstacles (you don't get killed).
2. Each time you hit the ground, you seem to slow down a bit. Staying high in the air while traveling fast will obviously increase the distance traveled (since you travel fast for a longer time).
As for (horisontal) speed, a shot with the golden gun will bring your turtle to top speed, REGARDLESS OF THE SPEED YOU WERE TRAVELING AT BEFORE. So don't waste your gunshots on shooting the turtle when it is already traveling very fast! It won't make that much of a difference. Again, forces don't stack very well. You reach the max speed, and then you need to just let it fly, you won't get it to go even faster.
