How I got the hard badge, using only 5 nukes:
Make sure you have a chest bomb (your in-game extra life). Fire the tank at max power, 45 degree angle. Hold W and D pressed down (at the speed you're travelling, you won't be able to see killing obstacles before they hit you anyway, let alone stay clear of them. A certain amount of luck is involved).
Keep an eye on the distance traveled. As long as the tens of thousands are ticking by almost like seconds, you're travelling at close to max speed, and you're doing fine (the 3 000 000 foot distance is going to take a bit over 5 minutes to travel anyway). When you find yourself counting thousands instead of tens of thousands, waiting for the next ten thousand to tick in, shoot the turtle with your golden gun, preferably on the way down, thus bringing it to top speed again (traveling relatively slow is not only, well, slow, it is also very risky. Because you generally travel slow where the objects are, and also sweep across more area, and thus more objects, as you bounce forward at slow speed).
Continue boosting the turtle like this, until you've spent all your golden gun bullets. It should bring you to something around 2 000 000 feet.
The missile is really not that big of a deal compared to the golden gun and initial tank shot, as it won't reach top speed. I'd recommend using it as a tool to maintain your height while already travelling above the screen at top speed (thus extending the time you're travelling in a safe zone at top speed), rather than using it as a speed boost.
When your bullets are spent, and you're bouncing around among the objects, your speed will quickly deteriorate to the point where reaching very far becomes unrealistic. When this happens, your main objective should be finding a pack of bullets. A single pack of bullets is worth AT LEAST 500 000 feet. Apart from that, the main horisontal speedboosters are the chainsaw-guys on the ground, but they are risky to rely on, and they won't bring you to top speed. If you're in too much danger, or find yourself close to a halt, use a nuke to gain some speed and height. And remember that the nuke takes a few seconds to drop.
I would recommend staying relatively LOW while you're traveling at far from top speed, in the area filled with objects. You're not going to travel hundreds of thousands of feet at this speed anyway, and what you want to do is stear clear of killers, and pick up bullets. To do that, you need to stay at a pace and height where you actually have a chance of manouvering.
Hopefully you will find a pack of bullets before you get killed. If you just need a few more thousand feet to make the 3 000 000, and you're starting to really fear for your turtle's life, use a few nukes to get you that little extra distance. Again, there's no point in trying to stack the effect of them. Wait until the effect of one of them is about to wear off, before you use another one.

This game could be so much better if it wasn't full of BUGS.
First of all, yes, you can click the "Boom!"-button many times (is it supposed to be like that?).
Second, often the dynamite bundles will be there even after the explosion, and the demolition will supposedly "fail" as a result...
If you are on a keyboard where this is hard to play:
Go to options → Map keyboard
And you will be able to configure so you can play it fine with a Dvorak keyboard too :)

My SECOND try at playing the game, the first was mostly just playing around... And I got the hard badge!!! :D :D :D
I had thought to myself that this should probably have been an impossible badge, but then I had two INCREDIBLE first days (36.881,90 $ on the SECOND day alone, can you believe it?). On the third day, I launched straight into mars. No need to bounce into anything, to use my extra fuel tank, or even to use my 2 e-rockets. I even missed the middle of the earth with my two comrades, by more than 600 feet. And still I went straight to Mars!!! WOoohooOO!! :D :D :D
Some simple tips (for the developer) about simple things that could make this game SO much better:
1. A speed-up button, "skip to nest day"-button, or somesuch.
2. There should be no 40 level limit (or rather, as in actual fact, 39!), because you'll end up dieing while waiting for the rest of the infected idiots to die, which is no fun. Find some other criterion for what kills you, and if it turns into a drag with day after day of waiting (as it does), the speedup/skip-button is a quick mend for that.
3. Extra people should not pop up out of the blue in a state you have already vaccined, while you're waiting for the infected ones to die. That's confusing and easily annoying. If you want that, at least add the option to do mandatory flu-shots at the airport or something. Otherwise, it's just a pain in the ass playwise.
4. Idaho, or some other random state, should not suddenly get infected again for no reason at all, while you're waiting for New Jersey, or whatever is the last infected state, to complete. I had all airtraffic and boattraffic on the west and south coast closed, and all of a sudden Idaho unannounced pops up again, and came damn close to making me fail after 20 levels of waiting, for the 4th time in a row.
5. "Internal trophies have been reset"? You DELETED people's trophies because you didn't know how to (or possibly didn't bother to) program a detection on the fly? Dude, what were you thinking?
Other than that, this game is quite alright. But listen to my tips, I urge you...
Ok, here's the kind of thing that can REALLY ruin a game for you:
After six hours of trying to complete the game, i discover the following:
It is IMPOSSIBLE to finish the level UNLESS YOU HAVE ALL BORDERS, SEAPORTS AND AIRPORTS CLOSED!
That's right. This time I finished it in about 20 rounds and kept waiting. For what you say? Well, for the infected people to die. Unfortunely though, even though your ENTIRE populous is vaccined, and you have the option checked to deport foreigners, SOMEHOW infected people AND HEALTHY PEOPLE ALLWAYS get through. The infected people are not really the main problem, they die. The healthy people are even worse. Appearently USA is too stupid to demand swine flu vaccination of its guests even though 5% of it's population has been wiped up, so even though your state WAS 100% immune, the game keeps adding healthy people too it! And they, of course, get infected, by the infected people it adds. And it takes forever for them to die.
40 infected left, on the decline, in just three states. Most people immune, and all were immune in key infection states. And I ran out of time!

The 1st lever is at the 4th Rune RIGHT from William, on a platform just above and to the left of the rune. You need to have wings and jump LEFT From the 3rd or 4th step, which are to to to the right. The 2nd lever is below and to the left of the Rune 8 jumps away from William. Just run along the sides of the pit until you find the hidden tunnel that leads to it. THe third lever is across Spire Bridge which you opened with the 1st lever. Near the 2nd teleport Rune from William. TO beat the boss remember he goes: top-mouth open, top-mouth closed, bottom-mouth open, bottom- mouth closed. its easy. Just remember the pattern. Keep this comment alive!
