It really shouldn't be possible to reach a checkpoint where you have no chance of surviving no matter what you choose. That's just unfair.

If you're having trouble remember to check that you've upgraded everything. Upgrades carry over between levels and can make a lot of difference.
Master1337, if you really knew about conservation of energy you'd remember that it CAN be turned into a useless form.
