nice hybrid game, a little on the slow side, even with the 4x button though. send next wave would make the grinding early levels easier, or better rewards for later levels so that grinding the early levels wasn't the best thing to do...
Still, small errors overall and a great concept.
My only argument about it being compared to magic is that it lacks depth... if instants worked like they do in magic (able to act at any time), then the game would be amazing. alas~
All badges, 2 hours or so of work. Still have a couple achieves to get (curse you, heroic!) Honestly, I'd love to see a fully-realized metroidvania in this style (perhaps going to retrieve our friend, SAGA?). This is an excellent addition to the original, and the type of innovation any series needs to keep itself up. 5/5 for massive amounts of awesome~
for those trying for the drift badge, the third stage with max accel and speed, just do donuts in any area close to large enough during the first lap: the AI will slow down and let you catch up over the next two laps, and you only have to finish before the timer runs out... I finished with ~30 seconds left and had 2200 drift. good luck!
For people having issues, remember that IE and Chrome both have known issues with KB commands in flash games. Also, for some people, having a KB with a 2-key rollover can cause issues.
Use Firefox, get a mechanical KB, be happy~
Hunterhogan: No, the coder's responsibility is to write the best game possible. If you can't play it because you refuse to boot up a compatible browser, it's your problem, not his.
Spot the differences + reaction... interesting fun. does it's job and is programmed well enough that it's not a resource hog, so it gets a 5/5 from me~
Gonna throw out that you can get the run upgrade without the spike upgrade, by double-jumping to the second platform. Not a big sequence break, but for any speedrunners out there, there ya go.
5/5 for a great game, if a little bit restrictive... if this gets expanded/sequeled, I'm all for it~
