Is this a bug or I almost never get relevant equipment? I've got a male assassin and I keep getting female armor, swords and spears!

On the downside, that strategy yields little money, because it involves killing fewer units.

There's a flaw in the gameplay (at least with the Wood Elves): flooding the enemy in a single row with spearmen, adding in a few rangers almost ensures sure victory. The enemy will disperse its troops and send in more powerful units, which come at a lower rate.
