I honestly cannot believe how badly designed this is. I've seen floaty controls in shooters before but this is just amazing. My first thought was "There had better be movement upgrades to justify how bad this is" and by the time I got to the first boss, I had lost hope of that ever happening. Speaking of which, when two of my teammates die my first thought should not be "Wow, this is so much easier now".
1) These hardware stores are terrible, the don't even carry nails. 2) There really should be a better balance of male/female survivors, I've got a total sausage fest going on. 3) People who are permanently part of your neighborhood should be removed if they are inactive for too long. 4) More god damn nails.
Because when I think Legend of Zelda, I think "Man, this game just needs grinding, terrible music, and a complete lack of characterization or storyline! Then it would be perfect!"
Getting really sick of these shooters with arbitrarily high upgrade costs. The scaling is abysmal, I'm more than halfway through the game and still unable to buy rank 4 of one weapon, never mind the archaic "magnet" upgrade system.
It's like seeing an emo teenage girl's notebook come to life. One part Alice in Wonderland, one part bad fashion choices. Not a terrible game, but sure as hell doesn't do it for me.
Step one: Buy both money books. Optional step: Buy shotgun. Step two: Buy best gun in the game. Step three: Do pretty much whatever you want now because the game is too easy.
It's kinda sad that the rocket launcher is almost as useless as the bow. Shotgun is the only really good weapon, Rifle does okay if you want to save a little Shotgun ammo but not really.
Wow, this game would have been good. Except that I'm getting really sick of games that verbally insult me for failure. It's not even that clever, it just makes you, the developer, come off like an asshole.
Five stars, no question. Though not without faults, this game has alot of good things going for it and I would absolutely love to see more of this story. The concept is new and intersting, the music is fantastic, and it is a solid shooter. However, the difficulty seemed random at times, and the English was rather poor. And while the hero sprites were very detailed and well-animated, the enemy sprites were comparatively plain and stiff. But even with it's flaws, it is still well-deserving of a high rating and I look forward to an improved sequel.
1) Create a painfully simple platformer. 2) Make "artistic" graphics which consist of plain geometric shapes of white, black, and only one color. 3) Add depressing soundtrack. 4) ???? 5) ZOMG INDIE GAME!! I'm getting really sick of these dime-a-dozen "art" games with zero gameplay value.
Ok.
