Something is definitely going wrong with those target cards. Every time I use one, my controls lock up, forever. Even going back to the menus doesn't fix it.
AI is really dumb and short-sighted. Usually it feels like it thinks it's just playing ordinary Tic-Tac-Toe, going blindly for corners and centers with no regard for the larger board. Example: I send it to a blank board to play, it responds by playing a corner. Which corner? A corner that sends me to a filled board, giving me a free move. Why would it pick _that_ corner when all the others are open? Answer: because it isn't paying attention to that. You did say the AI is supposed to get smarter, but I'm almost 40 games in and it barely feels different. But I guess this game was always meant to be played with people anyway, so not a major issue.
For the curious who don't want to reset a whole bunch, ending titles are A Gluttonis, A Hero!, An Explorer, A Good Companion, Violent!!!, and A Sheep Of You, in that order.
Oh god, DON'T buy loadouts. Not early on, at least. They cost a ton and don't give an advantage unless you've already bought the max amount of upgrades.
I know I'm seven years too late, but this game has some of the worst controls I've ever seen in my life. I feel like I need to buy a peripheral just to play it.
What's a nice thing I can say about this game? It's..... umm...... innovative! It is unique, I can't think of any game quite like it. The mechanics!... they..... they're unusual. Creative....... ummm........ it's colourful! Lots of pretty colours........ that's all I got. I hate this game. I hate the music, I hate the menus, I hate the click-and-drag thing, I hate the boomerang flowers, I hate how flowers die if you don't use them, I hate the confusing scoring system, I hate the badges Greg made for it, I hate the meaningless title.
This game is from the old times, isn't it? Those games that were like "Oh, look as this wee man, thinks he can roll with us. Maybe if you ate this entire live crab all at once."
I find it helpful to practice with the bullet speed handicaps maxed out. If +30% speed feels normal, turning the handicaps off will feel easy. Maybe even lower your attack with handicaps as well to make waves take longer? But this will make it far harder to defeat waves that flee before time is over. : ?
What's the point of having ten health when things start doing 5 damage? I may as well only have 6, I'd still die in two hits all the same. And those health packs are worthless, giving only 1 health each.
