Ironically, they recaptured it right before I conquered my last city... So Madagascar, once again, became the last human stronghold to fall under the might of the deadly infection!
Found an interesting exploit for level 6. A PING tower, when a ready-made EXPANDER module is fitted on it, with BEAM and SPLASH modules attached, can produce two widened explosions for the price of one. Notably, removing BEAM module makes it non-functional, and putting a SPLASH module on the PING tower is usually impossible.
Found a permanent stopper combination: From top down, a stretch of the following: Log Trap, double width triggers, at both above and below; Hot coals, Tar pit, double width triggers, both above and below, and finally hot coals. Guaranteed stopping power aganist captains in any numbers. Not tested aganist fast ones though.
Day 135. Only a bit till last endurance badge, non-hardcore. People keep asking me, why would I need three gravity guns? Because it's awesome. My parties are the stuff of legends, +150% damage. Casual Militia, with Sheriff, Sniper and Rogue to keep me company. Time to start planning, planning for hardcore hundred.
Fun fact - not only it is possible to get ACE ONE MILLION (get to Mars without being hit), it is possible to get even higher values... Though the one way I found requires to fly the ENDLESS MARS ATMOSPHERE all the way up...
Okay, I have a complaint on the gravity mechanic. Instead of having fixed circular orbits, planets are SLOWLY falling into the sun in a shortening spiral. If you play the game long enough, planets literally overlap and have no way of choosing except for overview menu.
Amazingly, I've finished the Mars Landing right after acquiring Tech Tier 5 (16 missions). On my mission 19 (repair the satellites) I've decided to brave the depth of space and turned an orbital mission into interplanetary one.
Crewmember 1: Captain, we've finished the satellite repairs!
Captain: Excellent. We have nothing scheduled, who's up for a trip to Mars?
Crewmember 2: Sir, is this wise?
Captain: Indubitably. So?
Everyone: Sir yes sir!
One trip later.
Crewmember 2: You, sir, are a genius!
Back on Earth, Land Control: Of all the harebrained schemes this one just HAD to be one to pay off!
Hint on bonus mission - little can be done to actually STOP the final boss, as he one-hits your troops. No exceptions. Therefore, I suggest investing heavily into ranged troops, and hoarding a few paralysis scrolls for him.
@ LloydL1, about Sarzael's instructions. The option "I wish for nothing" gives Normal Ending, if you haven't achieved all other endings in the playthrough, and True Ending, if you have. Difference is between "Nobody gets singled out" and "Everybody gets their wish in spades".
I just added a walkthrough for that level in the new version if you get stuck.
