I don't see how hard badge is so hard, folks.
One - if you invest in Last Flake's regen and HP she'll be all but invincible aganist the final boss.
Two - there is a health glitch. If you save game before the fight then load the same game, you'll get a boost of HP equal to one combat. I have to admit I that I used it, twice.
Three - there is a difficulty curve about monsters. Some characters have noticeably more effectiveness aganist one than the other, for example Detective can be effective aganist Fear of Darkness with his dodge maxed out.
What a game! Okay, I've one-upped the Badge of the Day and got that hard badge! :)
For those interested, here's a couple of hints. One - the last level is all about timing and choreography. And two - sometimes, rapid manipulation of gates actually can help do the impossible.
IMO the best setup is the Flag-ship. As in - 4 flags and a lvl 4 cannon. It allows for perfect Magnet and Attack Power, Fire Rate is at 7/8 which is very good too, and Loot is at 6/8. Yes, speed at 5 is the dump stat, but - high Loot allows for more anchor drops from the enemies, and you don't really need more to dodge the bullets Neo-style.
1- Shoot. 2- Shoot some more. 3- Buy machine gun and shoot some more. 4-elevator, additional machine guns in each one. 5- elevator, machine gun, shoot. 6- lazor in one elevator. 7-elevator, machine guns to fill 2nd slot in all. 8- lazor in 2nd elevator. 9- elevator, 3rd lazor, 3 machine guns in other. 10- lazor, knokbak and machinegun in all. 11- elevator, mgun and rocket. 12- sell mguns, rocket knokbak lazor. 13-elevator as all. 14-grade rockets, knokbaks. 15-grade lazors, rockets.
For level 5 I suggest the following purchase order: 1) Buy 3 groups of 3 flares, at the sides and at the center. 2)Buy 3 nailgunners, and place them to cover your flares. 3) buy a center fuel. 4) buy a side fuel. 5) buy a side fuel, and 3 more nails. 6)buy 4 more nails, put them in between the groups, in pairs. 7)Buy 2 lasers, and put them behind the pairs, money permitting. From now on, the wave number and the point number may vary. 8)Hog your money. You will need to get at least 3 flamethrowers soon. Once you can put them to cover your others. If you are doing it right you will get them right before the first hunter wave. 9)Increase flamethrower number to 6 ASAP. You know the drill from level 3. 10)Buy 3 more lasers, to bolster your main groups. 11)Buy 5 Impulsers, to cover the battlefield. 12)Prepare for the final wave. That is - 2000+ monsters. P.S. I only lost a side flamethrower and an impulser, as a fluke, on this wave.
Not a bad one. Frankly, Marvaddin gives a good piece of advice. Whenever you want to get health from a big group, and you have vampiric transform and harvest ready, cast transform first. If anything, you will get a nice boost of those sideline cuties that weren't part of the group before. AND - I am a lucky, lucky bastard. On my 2nd try unlimited, I got 111797 points and still had 22 health. I quit the game then - after all I already got the badge. :)
The most difficult one to achieve as a BRILLIANT is in fact mission number 14, The Secret Passage. And only because of the last champion - Ninja with 2500 hp, whom you simply can't Meteor into oblivion. So far my attempts include:
---Slow him with Red Burst - he still is too fast.
---One-shot him for 500 damage with a tower - not even the best dens are capable of that, because the bastard goes invisible before additional strikes land.
It means that this one is essentially luck-based, I have concluded that possible ways are to inflict status ailments, with the crypts. Either Disarm, Fear or Freeze ought to work. And they are chance-based.
