There is no rush to defeat the cannibal raider if you are hoping for a new building in the great beyond. after him is an ogre. if you beat the ogre, you'll have two new locations all monsters, and to move on from there you would need to beat a stone giant that has 2250k hp, and deals 10k attacks.
or he could be winning/losing a lot in arena without having to burn through energy and still doing damage, there is a nice silver bonus for arena quest. Also you can do a lot of damage in raid [the ones that unlock at lvl 40] without costing any energy, but that wouldn't explain the xp like the arena would. I used to burn my fireballs/magic/potions in the raids when my quest list became full of quest to use all three types-provided I would win of course. Another tip is, you can reload the game after you do said quest against a raid monster to see what your new quest are, then return to battle. Now I pretty much just ignore the magic and potion quests.
I seen guild events where a monster deals 4-6k+ damage, gulp, and there is like 20 of them. so holding onto the spells will be critical. eventually I'll get the sword from the winter sentinel, or save up 275k gold for my next weapon, and advance in raid.
his attack is only about 3500, about a tenth of dudemanly-not double. given his xp this week, he might be a paid player and/or he might be skipping crusades and raids. He might be able to defeat the swamp monster without potions assuming 50 invisible bow, (350000−3500−50×7)×500÷(3500×1.1111+50×7÷9) .
So its possible he might have a battle axe of giants (+475), orc cleaver (+455), meridian bow(+384), eagle feather sword(+185), sun burn(+185), bone bow (+145), troll death sword (+140), old battle cape [from raid] (+175), and many more from collections, and the shop, possible from from his guild smith [i.e sword of sun +275], crusades, etc.
btw, a hint is to leave the game open in a window at all times. When you go to sleep, school/work, and come back, burn all the energy you have in the first 3 minutes of use. The energy overflowed during the afk period will returned to your energy bar.
Another hint is when you afk that long, leave your mustafa trade window open. So that your existing trades expire and renew, and possibly when you come back the renew shop is about to expire, so you can shop that and then have another one appear in a few hours.
plenty of ways to also get free rubies, however slow, is opening the arena chests, pets quest, crusades, and every 5th level of the raids, and they can be bought in the mustafa shop for 1000 gold. 1000 gold might seem expensive for newer players, but in the 18th location some monsters drop 950 gold.
Who is this level 40 player you speak of? the top 4 players that i know of are dudemanly (lvl 56), spork (lvl 53), forrest bellman (lvl 50), and myself (lvl 52). i am f2p on this game.
It does appear that rubies [for weapons; a strong offense is a good defense] can get you a big push early in the game for those who are ptw.
I think you can insert the spahires and other gems when you get an equip to 5 star. given how hard it is to upgrade gear that high, I don't think anyone but the luckiest people use them. I think i have a single 4 star equip, and I pretty much just stop at 3 stars...well usually I stop at 2 stars.
armor of courage. in mustafa shop for 250 rubies, regular price 5000 rubies. i don't quite for 250 rubies at the moment, and if I did that is an aweful lot of rubies for just +375 hp at this stage of the game. first time i've ever seen it. Quite a few gear appear in his shop that I never seen elsewhere that have suggested prices.
