The subtle nuances and the intricate animation can easily be missed when there are no instructions for each new machine that you purchase. Besides that simple oversight, the game is flawless and challenging. I'm giving this game 5 stars, and I'm a critical player.
There is no game that is so intuitive it needs no instructions in black and white. If you accidently skip past the tutorial balloon that tells you how to manage your assets in a game, and there are no instructions on the page, your gameplay will be consumed by the absurd goal of simply figuring out which key to use, or what some completely unexplained object or npc is doing. "Space - Special Attack" tells me less than nothing about the pantheon of weapons in the game, what they do, what they are or how to get them. This game would have been a lot more fun if I had known what I was trying to do.
I wish I could give you some constructive criticism like all these other smart kids, but I love this game, and I would save all my changes for the next one in this series. Fantastic balance, and just enough depth to make this worth a couple of days play. Got my attention for sure.
Why do I get crates? I open them, but nothing happens. Nothing is added to my 'inventory' which I can't find. Your game should be easier to understand.
