Make the hittest better, you know when you click on your smiley in your timeline, or in the edit mode, there comes a little light blue square outside it, and because the smiley is round, its inside that box. So when the player colides at that box, it thinks its the smiley and you will die, get smoked or what ever you do. You can fix that by making a round circle inside the smiley and name it hit. then EXAMPLE:::
if (this.hitTest(_root.player)
change to
if (this.hit.hitTest(_root.player)
That will make the player die when you actually touch the full smiley, not just a stupid square.
