Please increase the maximum offline threshold from 12 hours to 48+ hours. When you have a lot of offline responsibilities (job, family, etc.) it becomes difficult to log in twice a day.
If you find the game laggy, you can use two options to speed it up a lot. Both are under Settings > Graphics:
- Combine damage text
- Display damage text
Especially useful if you're idling and not actively playing.
5/5 excellent game. There's an excellent message here about capitalism, science, and "franken foods." It had me literally on the edge of my seat for the last three items. Well done!
Great game overall. One complaint I do have is that fighting with diagonals doesn't work very well; it's not that you get afraid of monsters, or that you look forward to challenging monsters -- it's more about whether or not they can get you at the right diagonal angle that you can't hit them, but they can pounce and decimate your HP in a few seconds. (This even happened to me with a simple snake when I was at level ~16.)
I have to say, I didn't like the grinding. If you get stuck, you need to grind; trying to remember settings, struggling for another 100-200 experience, it's not worth it. In the last game, you at least had discrete challenge modes like swarm, endurance, etc. so you could more easy go through mechanical grinding. Please bring that back; that, or give 50% of experience on completing a previous level.
You can go back to any cleared room to get easy pickings -- ghosts and fiends, who drop potions sometimes. Repeat to fill up your HP and magic if you need it.
What I would really love to see is something like Learn to Fly or Burrito Bison (or Shoot the Turtle), where you have some sort of story and goals -- even hard to reach goals, like "run 1k, run 10k, run 100k meters." That would add a lot of direction and focus to this game. Please think about it for a sequel :)
It's strange that I completed the game, but don't have all the recipes. I noticed some glitches during the process, like acquiring artifacts (like soap) which didn't appear in my list or add any recipes to my research tab. As a consequence, I've completed the game, found everything, but can't create everything -- I still see unknown items. I think that makes me stuck.
Definitely interesting. You can make it more game-like by adding levels and objectives, like "reach 10 carnivores starting with one," "get foliage down to 25%," etc. BTW, predators are ridiculously over-powered, and large herbivores are carnivore food.
If you go slow, you can pick up hitchikers instead of knocking them down. The longer they travel with you, the more bonus cash you get -- until you hit something!
Great startings of a game. To really take it to the next level, you could:
- Add an amazing story explaining what's going on
- Add some bosses maybe
- Read the other upvoted comments on Kong
- Fix bullets/bomb-blasts ending at the edge of the screen
By the way, to get the maximum effectiveness of the bomb upgrade, don't just launch it; follow the wave as it spreads out.
To quickly gain a lot of money, find a level where, if you don't do anything, lots of fighting happens but nobody really wins -- a stalemate of sorts. Check every few minutes, and when you're confident that it's quite a balanced battle, come back after a few hours. You will rack up gold, win or lose.
Bug: if you're right in the corner almost out of a bubble when you level up, you upgrade, and you'll be in nowhere land -- can't enter bubbles, pause, fire, etc. Aw :(
To get a five-star rating, you need 1000 points. If you find someone early on (before age 20) with 3 positive traits (more than zero), you stand a good chance if they survive till the end.
You can increase offline progress to 48 hours by upgrading your barracks to level 10.
