Nice and quick but the King doesn't take much to kill, I only had a party level 10-10-8-8-8 and won easily, long before I could fully upgrade troop skills.
Beat the Beast (250k HP) as Lv 33 Mage DPS, Beldon Ax Tank, Serene Cole Healer, Aeri Swift Ranged DPS. Equipment was all the best gear you can buy for money plus some faction stuff. I gave Beldon the Void Stone to boost his HP and Def and bought 300 HP and 300 Mana Pots. I would use Touch of Fire on Beldon frequently and then switch back to the Beast to juggle between Auto attack, Flame Strike and Call of Fire. All went well until 40k, then the tank died and the Beats immediately charged the healer who died instantly, then started chasing me. At this point it was just a 10 min merry go round, with me circling the Beast and keeping aggro, with Aeri (archer) adding some additional DPS. Just needed to make sure that I wouldn't lose aggro by not going to close to Aeri. Once you beat the Beast, it will drop 3-4 pieces of epic gear and you will unlock a new title [Beastslayer] but there's no follow-up quest, so basically nothing left to do.
After getting the Swimming manual late in the game I went back to some caves dungeons to pick up stuff which was formerly out of reach. Results: 1 Antidote, 1 Small Health Potion and a completely obsolete weapon. There's also a questgiver south of the Mausoleum who gives you a quest that you can't finish until like 30 levels later. Again the reward is a crappy weapon. Side quests are a waste of time because the rewards suck and with enough cash you have access to every weapon in the game basically right from the start. Stupid.
More things: Arrows should not count as a separate equipment but be part of the bow. Also you need the currently equipped weapon and an arrow counter in the action screen. A slot for potions with hot key would also be nice.
Maybe in order to beat the last levels on Hard you should be able to buy an addon that gives you a permanent turbo shot. Available at 170 Stars or so and let it cost 500k, doesn't matter. BTW two of the same addons do stack.
This weapon purchase order served me well through Hard badge: Plasma Gun, Sonic Gun, Gatlin Gun OR Plasma Spreader, Meteor Gatling, Plasma Bomb. In general, don't spend too much on upgrades, rather go for the next weapon. And Magnet + Money Printer is a must for maximizing your earnings.
