I like the new tools that are provided (especially the ones that made the red angry bird haha) but I think you should scrap the circular stripe filter thing. Made most of the challenge in those levels just figuring out which color stripe goes where. Still pretty fun!
Just wanna point out you guys put the 'discarded grinding stone' outside of the windmill on the left of the door when looking at it from the cemetery and then on the right when you walk up to it.
Kongregate hosts way too many downvoters. If anyone wants to say something negative about a game, it's almost automatically given negative votes. If I wanted to say that the game is both short and simple as far as its puzzles go, I would honestly be expecting downvotes. I would literally have to include something like "nice artwork," or "well researched," or even "5/5" to completely avoid negative votes. In case anyone actually wants to know what I think of this game, I would give it a 4/5 for its art style, required background information, fluid animation, brevity, and generally simplistic puzzles.
Most of nerdook's game concepts are generally original, which is something that is pretty rare in the days of all these reworks of tower defense and final-fantasy-style RPGs. I don't know if it's just me, but visuals are a huge contributing factor to a player's impression of a game. I'm not saying nerdook's games look bad by any means, but the fact that the graphic design is this repetitive starts to bother me a little bit. I'm starting to feel like the fact that he dishes out original games so quickly makes me feel like he's neglecting the time he could be spending on improving and recreating visual style for his games. This game is good like all the others, but I feel like he could be putting more effort into how his games look.
Has a strong Fallout feel to it and doesn't really hold to the main traits of the other two games, but it's still pretty damn good. Nice work. Definitely 5/5.
I'm seeing a lot of people's comments getting downvoted for commenting or complaining about the difficulty of this game. Honestly, this game gets VERY difficult towards the end where you are required to place first in certain races, especially when you have an unfamiliar character forced under your control. My advice to people struggling would be to just rerun levels to get the feel for dangerous terrain or advantageous shortcuts. My advice to the developer would be to either slightly tone down NPC ability on certain challenges, or to slightly increase the effects of upgrading one's stats.
Just a little annoying to have the larger formations move just barely faster than you. It's almost taunting. Fantastic game for being made in three weeks though. 5/5
If you really look at this game, it all boils down to a really bad money-collection game. You have a tiny collection pull radius, the size of the "money balls" have no connection to their value, and we basically lose on random levels for no reason because we have little to no influence on when or where the money will appear. I'm honestly a little surprised at how much publicity this game got, given the fact it appears to be far from its full potential.
Wow, went back to play Balloon in a Wasteland just to see how similar these games were... everything is the same: interface, game concept, general features... even controls. This game is basically a cheap copy of Balloon in a Wasteland. I would give it a 1/5 for unoriginality, but it took some form of programming and 'visual paraphrasing' to make this game. 2/5 for effort.
