The text window is too small so the text wraps around - there is no limit to how much ore you can use to craft a shovel. I have increased the size of the text window for the next update..
The player, coins, and targets shouldn't be able to go into the dark grey area, that's intended behavior. Only turrets should be allowed.
So you were unable to shoot in the light grey area, but were able to shoot bullets into the dark grey area? Did you try reloading the game? Thanks for the report
