Games with story like this are called visual novels. There are a number of them out there, with most of them being catalogued on www.vndb.org, including Starwish. Might want to check it out if you want more story-laden games.
In the bottom right corner of the menu screen, next to the "buy new boards" button, there are five black circles. Click on the second one from the right, which looks like a coffee mug. It'll open up what looks like a spreadsheet, and at the very bottom you can see the cash you have available. That should reduce some of the lag. You can also lower the quality (middle circle) and mute sound/music (leftmost circles), if you wish.
It would be nice if the intro changed after you beat the boss, and instead of him carting you off to his lair, you get jetpacks or something to go there yourself. Also, did anyone else notice the thing at the top in each level changing after you beat the boss?
The references in this game are great. Has anyone looked at the items in the hall of fame? I see Indiana Jones, Hitchhiker's Guide, Bioshock, The Mystery (their next game, apparently), and Anton Karlov's truck from the Mining Truck game, whatever that is. I don't have all of the items though, so I wonder what the others reference, if anything.
Another interesting thing is the words formed before one messes with the cipher. In the third to last cipher, the word went from "wonderful" to "powerful." It was too late for me to check the others, but perhaps this is something to be looked into further.
Controls too sensitive, provide alternative controls (Spacebar for jump, maybe?). No idea what the money is for either, since I stopped playing after reaching the second plant (the red shooting one). Speaking of which, provide more contrast between the bullet and the background, since I can't see it at high speeds. Ah, maybe "zooming out" and showing more of the map ahead of time could help with the sensitivity too, since players could plan ahead. Achievements go a long way too- I'm a sucker for achievements.
By the way, if you crash onto your ejected body section and then wiggle the left and right keys, you can avoid getting a game over and continue the timer indefinitely. I got thousands of dollars that way, and unlocked quite a few missions. All on my second flight too~
Separated *by* the one you love? And *your* mission? Hmmmm. So it's not mutual love, but the pink one was trying to get away from the green one, and the latter went to absurd lengths to get to the former. Of course, it could just be a typo, and you wanted to say you were separated *from* the one you love.
Please, please make an autosave. I just got to the King of Fire, then my computer crashed. I come back, and now I have to spend hours to get back to where I was. Not worth it.
I suggest playing a game called Auditorium. It's similar to this game, but a bit harder. I actually needed a walkthrough for one of the later levels in the finale. Link: http://www.playauditorium.com/
Yeah the first one was just a typo. It sounded right when I wrote it. xD
