Note to beginners: Just because it says "Volcanic" doesn't mean there will be lava. Don't dig deeper than you have to! Land on a "Planetoid" and you should find lava within 25 depth. To get the lava, use dynamite, catch falling drops (but watch your damage meter) or dig the squares around the lava pocket until it empties, and drill it out along with the obsidian!
It would be great if the engineering panel "knew" to combine or split resources to get to the desired level of any particular resource for any particular upgrade... (Or would that be 'having the game play itself for you'?)
After buying the Research Nexus, to make Iron Lumps from Nuggets, just go to the research tab. It will teach you the recipe. (Trade 3 nuggets per lump, and 4 lumps per chunk). Now could someone tell me how to get the Lava Globs I need to create the Reconstructor and Engineering bays? I've been drilling the heck out of the Volcanic Asteroids at 25-35 depth and can't find a dang thing. Am I supposed to die before lava shows up or what? I'm too good to die. :P
Lava blob seems uber-rare. Sad, since this is a basic requirement to upgrade my bot? And I need to do that before I can journey deep enough to find a lava blob? *paradoxically confused*
When going for the "Six Lives" feat, save your money until you have 4,950 (if you haven't died once) or 17,250 (if you've lost all your lives). That sixth life costs 6100, so try not to lose it before you can afford it!
I love how there's an achievement called "The Miser" when you can't buy upgrades until the end of the level in the standard game mode. Miser? Right. Give me a shop. Give me a friggin shop!
Don't be put off by the idea that you have to grind. Just try and beat the levels without getting hit. Then go back and play through them once or twice. Level up your Shot Count, Split, Fire Rate, and Damage. Soon you'll be tearing through the game.
I want some Apoptosis lasers! Kill those infected neurons! Maybe add an "Orange Bonus" adds one free 'disinfectant' to move through a red space or destroy a red pathway. Nice visuals, but completely random.
It takes too long to build the mana to flood everything a few times. Spamming thunderbolt is a much better strategy. And leveling your land. And leveling land under the buildings you raze to get your guys to quit being lazy and go plunder...
How about that bug where a zombie grabs you with other zombies surrounding you, and then you press the button to kick them away and then you CAN'T MOVE? It's happened three times so far.
The encounter system could use an upgrade. You MUST go after the next objective. If you try to ignore it, you'll find there are no other beneficial objects in the sky.
