I'm a musician and songwriter, and these were rather easy but fun for me. I'm afraid that this is a rather niche type of game though and will only appeal to certain individuals. Very nice though. A freeform sequencer mode would be a fun addition too.
I stopped at level 125 with my Werewolf Fighter once I realized that it's infinite and I couldn't die. Some tips if you're having a hard time. 1. Werewolf fighter is very solid. As a general guide put 1 point in str and 2 in con every level. This gives you more than enough survivability while still letting you deal enough damage to kill quickly. 2. Get your cold resist up asap! The charge knights deal 100% cold damage and if you have 100% cold resist, it brings their damage down to zero. You also want about 50% fire and electricity doesn't hurt either. 3. Armor is important! Unless you get your armor high you will struggle in the later levels. Ideally you want high armor pieces with high ice or fire resist. 4. You want the weapon with the highest minimum/maximum damage.
I hope this helps.
The scope and depth of this project is just mind boggling.
On level 18, I caused the time-stop droids to overlap their beams, and the game suddenly froze and I ended up in an old fantasy style setting. I had apparently time traveled?! Anyway, the rest of the game 40+ hours played out in the style of an epic old final fantasy game.
I mean, who expects that level of depth in a TD game?
This is a pretty good idea. I bet if you run with this whole "Mario" thing, you could make a mint! Who knows? Mabey one lucky day your game will garner enough attention to be the flagship title of a leading console!!
I really love this. I started out the game focusing on raw power, but now I have changed to thievery. Nothing like getting 35+ items in a good run!
My only critique is that splash damage is a bit underwhelming. IMHO it should be tweeked a little if you make 5 (and I hope you do)
Fun game. Like the look of it. A few things...
1. I really liked it when the ball traveled into the other zone for the chest. The idea of the pinball traveling to a strange zone seems very cool.
2. As others have said, the flipper could be a little more crisp.
3. I felt that the two strong bumpers in front of the flippers were a bit too dominant. They seemed to have more impact than the flippers.
General Hammond: I need to know why you all are shooting off all of our nukes.
O'neill: Well sir, you see.... I uhh.
General Hammond: Spit it out!
Carter: It's a turtle
General Hammond: Turtle?
Carter: A turtle, sir. We're trying to launch that sucker 3,000,000 feet through the air.
General Hammond: ....
Fun game. Only thing I don't like is that you are stuck with whatever tank you choose. I picked the drone as my ultimate tank, and really did not enjoy playing it. I think the drone would have been much more fun if you had a normal attack, and your special released drones.
