Phoebe is not the worst actually, she can kill Andromeda, one of my often used cards. Indeed, when Andromeda comes out she'll be a good card to use!
Each character has at least one character which they are strong against, presumably.
For example, Vanessa Voss does well against Marquis La Morte because he has 10 dark resistance, and she does 1 extra damage per dark resistance of the target (inate ability). Phoebe does well against Andromeda because her attacks are more rapid than Andromeda's.
I remember a comment from a long time ago which I really liked, so I'll quote it here:
"Remember, your shield is your best friend. Your foot is your best weapon."
I found the quote funny, and it got me addicted to the game.
The songs are not TOO bad, even though they sound similar to music you can find in any skating rink these days. Even so, I prefer these songs a lot more since I can control the volume, and because they are still better than the songs I've found at the skating rinks I have visited.
A 5 star game, despite some tiny flaws which make the masses annoyed around here...
I think that being able to change your starter cards would be nice, since I am not able to test out anybody but Andromeda, Marquis Le Morte, or Helene to see if I can find imbalances on any specific card.
The whole point of beta-testing is to have people who help you find the bugs (at least from the maker's perspective), and it is generally a good idea to let them test out EVERYTHING that you have already programmed into your software.
I think that it would be nice to allow the testers an option of changing their starter cards, even if this means that any decks that they have created are removed.
I found out one of Andromeda's major problems (for me at least): she is not a good starter, since the game starts with both players at the close range.
Anyway, this is just my idea...
I find that Andyflux's comment reflects on what I thought about the game after playing SCGMD2. I thought it hardly deserved a five star rating, until I started looking at what Amilir was doing with "Frets on Fire". I may find it frustrating at times, but that does not mean that the game happens to be any worse! So many people here have underestimated the quality of Ben Olding's games, and despite the fact that they are all quite good if you know what you are doing, they do require BRAINS. Go figure!
Don't touch a single key for minimalist; guitar is a broom.
Butterfingers requires at least 1000 mistakes, and gives the unique keyboard guitar. I really like the comment on that one, you made me laugh Shinki!
One thing: being up to date does not always help, as I found out with my new laptop. The reason it was off beat for me was not due to lag, but due to the fact that my computer played the music too fast.
Quite a good concept, although getting the badge is not very easy...
I enjoyed getting the badge though, and managed to survive for 192 seconds, which was not far off of my personal goal of 200 seconds.
5/5 IMHO
An excellent game, really. I rate it 5 out of 5, and I loved it despite beating the game quickly. I do think more levels would have been nice, but there is a sequel...
