My favorite combo is Bertha with launcher and Barbarians with nets and throwing axes. Together they can obliterate nearly anything, flyers included. To round it up, Sorcerer with golem is good - it helps a lot with tricky enemies like area damagers etc.
It seems I was too optimistic about chances of no wing/death conduct. I played 6 games, and succeeded only twice. Which is still pretty high chances for roguelike.
It's mostly boils to whether you find adequate weapons in chests and shop as you go. If you can't kill most enemies in one or two hits. If you don't, you will burn through your hp and potions in no time.
Unless you are extremely unlucky, it is completely possible to do all 100 floors in a row, without dying or winging. I just did it two times in a row, and it would be three, if I'd not forgot to chug a potion at one moment on 90+ level.
In short, my strategy is to max attack, avoid those enemies I can't one-shot, and buy out all or nearly all healing potions in shop.
Some suggestions
1. Auto-use of wings on death. Player rage-quitting is not generally a good thing in flash game.
2. Streamline item selling in shops.
3. Add some useful things to buy in shops. Magic, may be.
4. Let use attack spells from afar. As they are they are nearly useless.
5. Mouse over to see monster stats, mouse click to come and attack it (or come and pick up something).
You can repair your car WHILE reloading WHILE setting mines WHILE healing with first aid. So, at the end I was just repairing car in the middle of the zombie wave, healing myself and dropping mines when crowd accumulates.
Camera jumping when living cover was annoying to me initially, but I then realized that it is intended and it's better hide as little as possible, killing enemies until you are out of ammo. And that consequentially, you should have as much of max ammo as possible.
Also, tank "escape" thing was confusing to me to, but I realized (again) that you should press not just anywhere, but inside the circle saying you to click.
Faction change after death is not a bug. It's because green sector is safest - if you are green too. So if you die, it sets you in safe place, so you don't die again soon. If you don't like it, just load save or autosave - they are made each time you leave station.
Thanks for all good comments, they are very heart warming. Sorry for "frustrating" part. You haven't probably seen v1 of the game - THAT was frustrating as hell:) And that's why I removed it. And what's that about black door? Game is named "Paint it Red" just because it's game instruction in three words:)
Thanks for suggestions. I'll do something with stars. Most likely, there will be different number of stars (or other background junk) in different game levels.
Weapon switching is a little unwieldy, yes. That's why there there are bindable shortcuts for most used of them. If there are ideas how to make switching 19 (or even more eventually) guns, I would be happy to hear:) May be allowing to rebind all buttons...
As for too much enemies, explosions, etc. It looks and plays considerably different from usual shooters. But that is kind of a point. I was hoping people would like it... And enemy ships and projectiles are colour-coded so they are visible both on black and red background.
