Epic simplicity, epic music, epic cleverness...
A few changes could be handy, though:
undo button AND/OR, as you pick up the coin, its last spot becomes highlighted.
Coins and their respective objective spots should have matching colors. As it is now, the reddish coins actually go to the black spots, whereas the "white" ones go to the reddish spots...
I really hate when developers don't give users a feedback or don't answer the comments even if it is to say "Oh, we are trying to fix that, don't worry"....
- It lacks a real challenge: it's too easy to make money. Hence, too easy to do anything else.
- It should be possible to select employees from their office/desk. Searching for one employee within the whole company is a tuff task, and not the kind of challenge that amuses players.
- It would be nice if we could select all workers from one office or all of that kind, so it would be easier to realocate people in the building.
- Maybe an underground feature would be nice, so we could build cafeterias and gyms down there. Just like SimTower.
- Also, would be good to designate people to work in a specific office/group of offices. For example, assigning a supervisor to work only in the selected offices, instead of working throughout the whole company.
The game is really cool. Better than SimTower, in my opinion, but it frustrates player with all those bugs and being too easy.
My feedback sent to armor games:
There are several bugs in the game:
- The game won't save.
- Suddenly, offices disappear and everything stops working. Buttons are being pushed, but no income comes from that. Janitors would clean the garbage bins, but they would still be full.
- Sometimes, workers won't go home, they keep working forever. It just happened once to me, but it was weird.
Some points that could be changed to enhance gameplay:
- the game is unbalanced, you earn too much money with some few employees (I managed to get 150,000 a day with less than 60 workers, the other 40 were HR, supervisors, janitors, etc)
Two suggestions:
- a spawn all button (clickin 5-20 times is okay, but when you want to spawn 100+ souls is quite annoying to do so)
- a mini-map could solve the scrolling problem
That's all...can't wait for the next updates!
I liked the idea. Getting started from a bunch of pixels and then evolve to something better. However, I don't like the game challenge: the player has to be too precise to jump from a plataform to another. Simple actions, such as jumping, running, walking, pushing levers, should not be the real challenge of the game (this is valid for any game, from my point of view). When you set the game difficulty based on these trivial actions, the player gets easily bored and/or frustrated. I recommend the book - ROLLINGS, Andrew; MORRIS, Dave. Game architecture and design. It presents a very good overview of developing games, but in the conceptual aspect, not the technical aspect. It teaches how to develop a storyline, the characters, scenario, difficulty, and how to make all this match with each other. Moreover, the game must be played at once, as it doesn't save any progress. Good game, but I wouldn't play it for too long. 3/5
Very original game, brings a whole new concept inside the tycoon kind. I really like the idea to run a publishing house. HOWEVER, the game is very tiring: clicking in small icons is not a brilliant idea. Not to mention the articles...the icons are too fast, it is too easy to lose an article. The office is too big for so few people. Besides that, the layouts could be reset, as someone has already mentioned. The gameplay is pretty intuitive, but it doesn't save the game by itself.
AND PLEASE, don't upload games to Kongregate with locked content that can be opened in another websites!!!!
Awesome concept, but the execution is a big failure 2/5
The game has no point, no purpose. Levels? Upgrades? Original ideas? Evolving difficulty?
You get bored in less then 1 min.
It has good graphics, but it is a mega fail.
1/5
How can the bullets be so slow??They're bullets!! And why add a chance to miss the shot, if you have to aim manually? Makes no sense...I could not even play more than 2 missions because of these 2 things...too annoying 2/5
Bullets are too slow (it's quite hard to kill enemies at distance)
You hit the enemy...but you can still miss the shot?!?!?! WTF?
there are much better games without "123873 new and unique features" 2/5
Bad game. Could be very good, but it gets boring easily. Hitchhiking from the 2nd to the 3rd town is quite impossible, even with the sign, the cars just pass too fast. The minigames are absolutely NOT interesting and have no improvements. You'll always get the same amount from the cans and begging (unless it does and is unnoticeable). Upgrades? Oh, I wish...I sure want to make money faster or being able to get a ride easier (no, the sign is not sufficient. In fact, it's almost impossible to get a ride without it).
And why do I lose HP when I use my finger and the car doesnt stop to give me a ride?! Makes no sense...All animals are unavoidable, except for the hedgehog. Besides all that...the game has major fails: you can't go back and there's no checkpoint.
This is a typical case of "i havent played my own game to check if it needs improvements". I quite enjoy this kinda game, this one just fails in some many ways, but if the developer could fix some stuff, it could be awesome. 2/5
Really nice concept. We don't get to see a lot of games like this one. It has very nice ideas, but, unfortunetly, very bad features as well. Nice wind physics, but we should be able to control de acceleration a little bit more (besides dropping the ancor, should be possible to sail with 0 up to 3 sails "opened"). The handling is also terrible, it ruins most of the game fun, as well as the auto-zoom (should be controlled by the user). I agree that buying and improving parts of the ship would be just awesome, but the crew idea is very clever. Last thing is...the loot disappears too soon, sometimes I just kept going round and round the loot because of the bad handling and I lost it. Also, when you accomplish the objetives, you don´t have time to sail over the loot. We always lose the last ship loot.
Very original game: 3/5..but I, as many other people, expect to see some improvements, as this game has so much potential
Reminds me of the Lost Vikings. Nice game, but poor in therms of animation and art...and there are a few bugs.
When you upgrade the cookie speed, it decreases, instead of increasing. Weird, han?
3/5...considering the potential, 4/5
Both good suggestions. I don't think they'll end up in this game, but for sure they'll be kept in mind for future stuff!
