OK, here's the stuff I wish I knew going in...
You can't sell equipment until you reach Renown 7, be careful what you buy.
You can buy chests with pizza, so avatars for 80 is a waste.
Dwarves move 2, humans 3, and elves 4; but equiment helps. Everyone draws a move card every turn.
Dwarf skills (when you unlock it) grant move/attack/defense cards. Humans grant support cards, ie: give target an attack card. Elves get special moves ie: move and push enemies next to you at the start of your move.
There are weapons that help you move, so a dwarf is ok. Wizards need to move for line of fire and to escape trouble, so I recommend an elf. Clerics are heavy on support, so human skills fit in with that.
The upside of black cards is drawing another card so they help you cycle cards faster.
PS, thanks to the badge of the day, I wouldn't have tried this game otherwise. 5/5
I notice that when the enemy moves adjacent to two of my troops I attack first but only with one unit, however when I move adjacent they attack first but I attack with both units
40 points to get to challenge mode, click on 'controls' to see how to control the games you have not played yet... now how may points to unlock the mode to get the badge?
when you leave a town and flee an encounter without trying to fight first then your health will still be what it was at the end of your last fight instead of full health
you can "buy-down" from horseback to on-foot, in other words 'just toss your horse in the dumpster out back' (you don't get anything back for it, like 5 iron you could use to upgrade to a cart)
the quickest way to produce corpses is from the starting block jump at the moving spikes overhead, if you miss jump into the area under 05 and continue. In the process of getting graveyard you should be able to get death at 0 and 1 o'clock murder
I love the retro looking games, it make me feel like I could make one (because I'm a terrible artist but a good programmer). Also I prefer to read the sounds and wish there was a mute (because I'm always listening to something else). I'm sure they'll add a completion badge after a little while.
