For whatever reason, adding the gameOverMenu broke my resetScore() and resetHealth() functions; I have to add a "_root.ship." before both, from within Ship.as, to avoid error messages, but neither one is working anymore. I have no idea what went wrong, as they were working perfectly right before adding the newGame() function...... the joys of programming.
Combo system is broken. It makes absolutely no sense for combos to time out due to not having enemies on screen, while I can make as many mistakes as I want and keep a combo going as long as I finish a word within the time limit. A mistake should end your combo, and the player should not be penalized for being faster than the game.
Even for the crapshoot that this kind of game is, it's the worst one I've played by far. Dog "moves" while standing still, collision detection is not even remotely close, dog moves too slowly.... everything about it reeks of a project that was thrown together in five minutes in a sad attempt to get paid through sponsorship. I'm surprised ArmorGames picked this piece of crap up.
Amazing depth for a flash game, and everything is well done. It would be nice to see how much gold an item will sell for ahead of time, and missions other than "(Get item Y by) kill(ing) X of Faction Z." Graphics are simple and to the point, creating a believable feel, and music is spot on without (most of it) getting too annoying over time. Great portfolio piece, and congratulations on a job well done!
Quit just over half way through; sick of hearing "you're a maniac" but then seeing that I've gone from crazy to super once the lag passes. I know lag's not your fault, but it does make me hate this game on Kongregate.
Don't know if you read these, or just your Newgrounds comments, but I gave you a 3 instead of a 4 because the game is too easy to beat without buying any upgrades. Great concept, just make it harder, or at least add a hard mode. I would have rated it 4, but not 5, because of how short it is (both game and story).
If you're going to make circles a valid shape, make it easier to draw them. I'm working with a touchpad on a laptop, it's damn near impossible to draw a circle on these; they're even less accurate than using a mouse. Not that I had any trouble playing the game without circles, but yeah..... if it's in, make it doable. Other than that, great game.
Painfully slow, poorly explained gameplay, painfully slow, too many hidden variables (soldier stats BEFORE you buy them), painfully slow, buggy, and painfully slow. Did I mention your game runs incredibly slow, even when you taunt?
