I understand that this is probably a port from mobile, but I would like to be able to use my keyboard to move around, and to see the entire screen (even with a resolution of 1920*1080, keep in mind that there are many people with lower resolutions and it will be too hard for them to play). Finally a way to configure music would be good (or at least mute).
yea, its a port, and there is main idia, that your car speed depends of point where you click\hold. Resolution is 600\960, i gues it has to work everywhere. Thanks for your reply, i guess i will add settings menu:)
That was really nice. It has the same feeling as some good old flash games, yet it still has a lot originality. For some reason I wanted more though. Maybe levels, or global statistics so I can compete with others, I am not really sure. Other complains are the lack of pause button, I can't cotrol the volume (mute) and after playing once I can't go back to the menu.
Hi, thanks for the feedback!
I uploaded a new version with new features/improvements:
highscores for logged in kongregate users * sound mute option * pause button.
Enjoy!
I wanted to note that pressing two button, for example w and a, makes you move faster. I don't know if this is intentional. So the trick is to run in zig-zag and being careful around the corners. I think the cap is around 70-80 secs, I could be wrong. Also for some reason the controls didn't work the first time, had to reload.
Yeah, when I was making this game I noticed that happening too. Also, with the controls not working, that's pretty strange. For the WASD controls, I made the player repeat moving 2 steps, so I think pressing multiple buttons at once increases the amount of steps, and I'm probably never gonna be able to fix that, heh. Thanks for the comment!
So, the concept is nice, but the game lacks too much. You have to use the mouse and the arrows AND space. Have you actually managed to play that? Why not use also "wasd" to move, so that right handed people can play? Also the game is too small when you are not in fullscreen. I hope I don't sound too aggresive. This could actually be a really enjoyble game if is wasn't so dry. Some things to make it more spicy would be: score, achievements, difficulty, levels maybe, upgrades. Finally I think I found a small bug: after the first death your character turns white (the hit-sprite) and remains like this for a while even after starting a new game.
So, not being able to play the game when you are not on fullscreen is pretty bad, and using A/D for the paddle seems useless since in this kind of games you usually lose a ball for being slow, not fast. Also adding a button in game for back would be a nice idea too. For example I was stuck in the options menu because I haven't read the instructions. I like the general idea though.
Nice game, here are a few thoughts:
1.The walking speed is a little too slow, making the puzzles more tedious than they have to be.
2. The theme song in the credits is in a language I can neither read nor write. There is no way for me to search for it. (Solutions: a link, copyable text, English version name)
3. I found a bug. Sometimes when walking, if you try to turn you may move the box sideways. Actually one time I was able to make the box follow me while I was moving backwards. I hope I expained it right.
Thanks for your feedback, Bill. This is all valuable information for my next games. You are neither the first nor the last one I guess, who mentions slow movement on the first place... good to know!
I don't know if I got this right but I think the the "E" skill makes a fake clone of the ball, but you still have to hit the real one, and the "Q" skill makes the ball go slower.
Nice game for first try but it really lacks in details. The more complex your game is, the more you will have to explain it. My one complain is that the ball always pops up going to the left side. Even in 2 player mode. This is really unfair. Also I noticed that the the AI paddle randomly stops, probably to make it lose, since this is the first challenge most people encounter when building a pong game. Instead of that try to make it move slower, that way it will look more realistic.
The controls feel a little weird, and there are a ton of ways to get stuck. Also the spike's hitboxes are off and the UI is missing a lot (like a main menu button).
