Idle Wizard

So all progress gone... one less game to care about.

Badges don't track and register the progress. Another game with broken badges. *sigh*

The easy badge has a wrong name, as there are no mana runes but magic runes.

Likewise, can't log in... version 0.3.10.35 is not even beta but more like alpha. Yet it got badged and even had a BotD.

Wiped my progress the next day. Although the game says it saves to the cloud. Good job, devs.

Auto Prestige is broken for me - when I toggle it off, it is still doing prestige according to given parameters (stars/minutes). The only way to stop it is to set 0 for both stars and minutes.

Developer Reply

That is how you toggle it off, by setting it to 0 as the tooltip states. EDIT: This will be changed in next patch.

One important thing: I don't trust saves that go into browser's obscure Local storage, Indexed DB, etc as it is "volatile" on browser updates or crashes. In this game, when the exported save is loaded there is no "offline progress", only if the game loaded progress form the browser stored file. No other Idle game behaves like that and even warns the player NOT to rely on browser saves. After all CCleaner or cleaning cache+site date would wipe that. Can you please consider adding offline progress to the imported files?

Developer Reply

I understand your point, but only a tiny portion of players even use import/export. Having said that, I will look into adding offline progress to imports :) EDIT: Offline gains should now work for importing as well.

@archerbob: use cantrip upgrades as much as possible, it can give you a chance to escape or attack; one pawn with cantrip that exchanges into a queen can be a very useful to (re)gain control. Second useful is probably splash/armor combo. I only bought health when I had extra coins.

The game works perfectly with Chrome Portable 87.0.4280.141 and modified pepflashplayer.dll version 465. Defusing the player is described here https://cache.tehsausage.com/flash/defuse.txt, but note that the replacement should be +infinite (00 00 00 00 00 00 F9 7F) instead of NaN. There are online hex editors like https://hexed.it and Chrome portable won't ever update. It is also possible to use flash 32.0.0.371 as it doesn't have a time bomb. If this doesn't help, google "defusing flash player".

Well for this one, the rating *SIGNIFICANTLY* changed. I have had enough of bad pong, there are great pong games here (e.g. Pwong 2) so no need to frustrate own player base by forcing shoddy pong-like "puzzles" that are virtually impossible without mouse. Now go on crazy with down voting this remark.

Finished the game but the badge didn't register... bummer!

Rotate

The main concept is basically as in Topsy Turvy, except that "rotating" the gravity has additional controls (and is also the biggest source of failures).

The key to pass the crow pecking part is to repeatedly swing the cat to the left, beneath the branch, and meow. The crow goes after the kitty's head so will hit the branch instead of the tail and do successive damage to the branch - until it snaps.

If this game was made like between 2008 and 2011, the developers would have to rely on their coding skills and if done right, it would run smoothly and its memory footprint would only be a fraction of this monster. And, why using complex WebGL for what seems like a simple 2D platformer?

A rare concept with the combination of relaxing music, decent level of puzzles and simple game control, using mechanics that doesn't rush or punish the player in any way. Hoping to see the full version. 5/5

Things were made worse and more stressful as this was Monday's BOTD, so only one day to do it. FWIW, the technique for the jump is not a simple 'S+Left'/'S+Right'. The character bounces down, and near the top it's almost a certain failure. If there is enough wall below the 2-square staircase, it's best to jump from ~2.5 squares below and then a simple 'S+Left'/'S+Right' works fine. But near the top, the timing has to be changed to 'S+Left', 'S', 'Right'. Not 'S+Right' as there is a little time difference between 'S' and 'Right' needed to avoid character hitting the ceiling and bouncing down. It is a good idea to practice the required timing at the 2-square obstacle just above the entrance door. Check the video of flawless wall climb posted by BCMax.

Finished the "wall climb" after countless desperate attempts. But now I don't feel any better at all; so much effort to beat a half-baked tiny flash code. Games should be entertaining and not source of massive frustration. Because of that, rated as 1/5. Now go crazy and kill me with down votes...
