When you die, if you press weapon select and then re-enter the game you can skip the time to re-spawn.

Would have liked to see the next color so you could form a strategy, and some goal to reach instead of it seeming to go on forever.

Just make a mental note on your computers clock of what time it is, add ten minutes, and when the big asteroid comes just make it hover over you. No other asteroids will come, and you can do it for the whole ten minutes if you're luck (I did it for 7 out of the 10 minutes)
