Olive's comment would work, 'cept that the Swordsmen class have very bad reach. Most of them die before even having a chance to attack their opponents.

Go to the last challenge for the medium. Take out the center four, quickly make a transparent, and when the spawns from the center four dots rebound back kill 'em all at once!
The moment I got Spike in the last level I killed the largest enemy. I picked off the smaller ones but then I got infected, so I ate some proteins, waited for the last opponent to separate, then I ate them and won. :P
Won! Stay near enemy base, out of range of orange until fully shielded. Upgrade to triple shot (to better hit), then weapons (to kill), then allies and shield (defense). Engine needed to follow orange - regenerates fast. Kill all orange before enemy base. Other upgrades to deplete ether.
Wait until you have enough gold to afford about two super soldiers. Wait for the enemy to send out tanks, and use your special against them and the troops that come after, as your opponent is vulnerable at this point. Deploy a Super Soldier and 5 Gunners as back-up. Game won.
