I was somewhat skeptical of playing this at first. But now that I'm getting into it, it's really fun. Kudos for making an engaging RPG with a reasonably strong level of combat depth. And I cannot thank you enough for not making dying an instant game over. I got screwed over by a level 8 Bunch who pulled out 250+ on my entire party. I will have revenge!
It'd be nice if upgrading towers did more than just boost their damage. A range/speed boost would be nice. Also, information on stats would help. Is armour with a higher rating but no +defence better than one with a low rating but higher +defence? When you've completed the story on easy, the game seems to become far simpler--you can use VIII to boost your starting equipment, which in turn means you end up not even needing towers for the first 2-3 levels on hard.
Could do with a bigger font. Sometimes it feels like there's too much text, too small, and with too many mistakes. Other than that it seems pretty good.
Brilliant work. Really enjoying it so far, though I'm finding that I sometimes can't hit pillboxes from certain angles. My shots just dissipate in front of them, even if there are no visible rocks or anything.
Scanner Ghost's image made me think something dirty. ._. Great game, though. As others have mentioned, it would benefit from some form of story mode, and with a few tweaks, a multiplayer function. 5/5.
Got to level 3 and it glitched. Went to the bottom cog (the biggest one) and moved it, and the light went off the track and got stuck inside the cog. This has happened 3 times now.
I quite enjoyed it. A nice spin on this kind of shooting game, and personally some of the "did you know" gags slayed me. A bit on the easy side, but nonetheless a very good game.
@ShiitakeWarrior I just tried that challenge because you mentioned it. Just aim at the nearest fire truck and release your plane just before the other F16s come. I passed it on my first try.
3. Hotkeys. Can't stress it enough. The mouse is being used for collecting money, moving to the bottom left to activate a skill or select a bomb is tedious and frankly useless. You've got a hotkey to pause the game, would it really be too much trouble to bind the skills to 1-4?
1. Penguins need AI. In real life, penguins are in fact intelligent enough to go around obstacles to reach their desired destination/item of food. These don't. Fix it, because it can really break the game at times. In addition, make it possible for the penguins to change their target. Dying because it runs at a wall to try and reach a turtle behind it is irritating, especially when other turtles walk JUST out of eating range, yet don't get chased because our little Pingu friend has a one-track mind.
2. Lower prices. The only reason you have to play a long time to beat the game is because we have to go back to level 30 to grind it countless times for the 15k+ money you get from it. A shorter game is preferred, unless it's a game requiring thought or skill, such as a tower defence or RPG. Aside from those, longer does not mean better.
Can we have it remember the fact our flash player is updated to the latest current version? Every time I load the game it's "Your flash player may be outdated! blah blah blah" click on the close button and it takes me to the Adobe site. Dislike.
CopyLion, it's not really a remake. Considering the game you mention was only released in 2007 IN JAPAN, and didn't reach localized English-speaking countries until 2009. Note the upload date of May 17th, 2008. I highly doubt the developer/s played your "famous" game, especially since, and I quote, "This game is mostly unknown outside of Japan and is considered to be a cult hit." Research is a useful tool, isn't it?
Am I being silly, or does the mage have no healing magic? It's tedious to rely on potions, especially as most Champion and above enemies can kill me in two hits, the first dropping me to around 20 health.
Needs a minimap, as others have mentioned. Also, I seem to encounter a glitch stopping me from turning right while boosting. I can turn left, but not right. Using Firefox 3. Just me, or do others get it as well?
hold down fire for range mortar. read Raal's advice above. Thanks, Leigh
