there are many ways
1) play with all the colors, diffrent colors have different cards
2)Defeat the cave trials, its how you get the titans (1-4), and the Beserker card(5)
3)Defeat all of one color at one time, dont jump around the map during the beginning, since the monsters are weak at the start, you should kill whichever color has the most castles

I used.....
Phantom Armor, Centaur Archer, Black Knight, Magic Cannon, Frost Giant, and Taurus Warrior; the five skill cards I used were Healing Wave, Freeze Trap, Comet Shoot, Lighting Bolt, and Athena Protection.
An easy way to kill that Triceritops/dragon thing is to use pheonix strike and get your mermaids and centaurs MAXed out then send them in behind your other monsters
An easy way to bring out the enemies General early in the battle is to use the "Meteor" skill card, target the General and if it hits him, he will charge your army, very useful if you hav weak decoy monsters
