The game is almost good. One fatal flaw keeps it from being a 5/5 in my books, and puts it down to 2/5. Is it the lack of continues? No... Is it the enemy diversity being slightly low? No... It's the fact that the jumpkick/shoryuken move is completely overpowered. You almost never need anything else, it allows you to basically auto-kill anyone that's up against a wall (including bosses! You can infinite every boss except the last one against a wall with good timing), and it moves you fast. Need to mix it up/move even faster? Jump, then jumpkick/shoryuken. It's broken as all hell!
Very easy. Like, ridiculously easy. You're hard to hit with or without a weapon (with a weapon it's ridiculously simple) and when you do get hit, there are power-ups that help you, plus the opponents never do all that much damage.
Still a lot of fun though.
...
No "are you sure" on the new game button... That is one HELL of a bad move. Stupid misclick. That said, the game is great, the concept is original and fresh, and the music is nice (so are the graphics). Well done.
Ninjas make homer something something.
Otherwise-no, including that, great game. The ninjas aren't that bad, actually-you can kill them with spells and shit, and splash effects like the ballista and the burning temple can mess with them with good timing. Usually I just chuck two or three fireballs in there and call it a day. What really pisses me off are the assassins. You can't autonuke them with fireballs. :(
There. Done.
GOD. THOSE. LAST. TWO. LEVELS. ARE. IMPOSSIBLE!!!!
Seriously, incredible difficulty is one thing. Incredible difficulty plus stupid control = fail.
Still liked it though.
Really quite good. Got frustrated at level 10, but at some point when I don't have more important things to do, I'll probably come back to it. The idea is original and the scheme is great.
Boring. And hard. Maybe I have my upgrades wrong? But the post by Demaldon is accurate. It's also probably the most generic TD I have seen in ages. Terrible; not worth the badges. Give something good like Imperfect balance badges, not this crap.
Not having an in-level menu (I want to lower my quality back down dammit! And get rid of mouse control! And My keyboard has no end button, friggin' macbook) is a pain. Still cool though.
@preded: the game kicks the shit out of you later. The curve is pretty steep, but good. I really like this game. Good control, good balance, actually challenging, it's easy to divide the powerups from the nerfs and the projectiles (big nono in many games, this one does it very, very well)... all in all, impressive work.
