Finally beaten this after 2 years since my first play.
It takes good strategy and patience but its very rewarding. Great game and I wish the developers the best. This game has lots of potential and should be made into a full fledged console game.
Maybe a multiplayer version with some added player driven intrigue, you could send an agent into other peoples camps, like the Riffs or mad scientist...
All of this mechanics could also be made into an RPG and the enviroment and other characters would actually be alive and developing while you play openended or subplots. All about this game should be furthered into other games or ideas because it is wordeful.
I know what happend at the end. Science.
Basically the trees managed to gather radionuclides from the soil and as some nuclides are fissionable that started a neutron chain reaction that produced exponentially more nuclides and used that as nutrients.
As for the symbiosis, the mutated animals feed from nuclides, those animals that lived inside the trees would grow much faster. By natural selection, prematuraly born animals would grow even faster than on term animals because they would be in direct contact with the three´s radionuclides and start swallowing it from the ground.
Eventually some animals started to whelp as microscopic fetuses only strong enough to climb the tree and cocoon on a groove of it's bark, developing much faster than any previous mutated species.
This game is as scientifically accurate as nuclear apocalypses can go.
There should be a infobox for the recipes when buying them or "synthesizing" because theres no way to know what the product upgrades are about other than the resources they cost.
The tech tree of this games is awesome. Game wise its very good. But Realisticly speaking is even more AMAZING!!!
Congratz Robs, pls check http://code.google.com/p/rlprospector/ if your even apply your brilliance to this source I guess you are going to be the master of gaming!
You know what would be awesome? If they took this game's weird-kinda-ignorant concept and made a movie faithful to it =D It is like if japanese teenagers tried to describe indian culture with a action martial arts spin into it.
Imagine the repercussions... Low bugdet movies would never be the same, kinda like Ed Wood, but better, coz it got Mortal combat fatalities in it.
