BTW this is a MILITIA! I kept using the rifle and got a comrade as soon as I could, I'm on day 24.Still disgusted.
Then immediately the next day, I get four catapults, a boss, two hulking ogres and a BUNCH of berserkers running at me and lose right away.

I got a laser pistol, which is very inaccurate but it does the damage needed. if I manage to accidentally headshot enough things, I go into rampage mode. Admittedly, the 50-100 of rampage shots with this is FAR FAR BETTER. Also it's not 12 bullets now, it's 30~, so :-\ That helps. Accuracy is terrible terrible - making this more of a sidegrade, as most of my shots miss. Yes, even the dead- on ones.
*NOW* I finally did it, SEVENTEEN retries later, and do you know how?
First wave : dragonflies.
Second wave : rats
third wave : boss plus chickens
Fourth wave : Mix, 1 catapult
Last wave : Mix, 1 catapult.
This is ridicilous..
Still as that same rogue, I am now GRIND-LOSING the same worthless wave to get the 100 fail money and whatever I scrape together from headshots, upgrading my house and adding MOAR AND MOAR people, because the shop -still- has nothing useful.
My only, ONLY saving grace is I am a headshooting rogue, so even if I lose, I get 300-700 gold per day, but this is disgusting.
I am humiliated, forced to use "casual" mode in a broken game to scrape together money using the FURTHER HUMILIATING "carry over" option?

I just lost THREE f*cking times to the SAME wave. I CANNOT get past this, because you have : 10 dragonflies, 10 rats, 2 catapults and a f*cking boss.

Not only that, I -STILL- lost when the damn catapults showed up, because - sURPRISE SURPRISE - I still only had the very first pistol because NOTHING good dropped or appeared in the bloody shop! (Even then I was busy fortifying my castle, PLUS my weapon skills don't really develop either).
1)Rename "Casual" mode - this game is punishingly random. No skill necessary. NONE. Just PURE LUCK.
2)Fix the bloody shop! FIX IT NAO!

As simple, linear, and "monotone" the game is (rinse-repeat works fine), I'm enjoying it.
I guess it's the RPG element. I'm a sucker for powerups, upgrades and stuff.
I'm impressed that the magic functions as intended. I usually go "simple brute force warrior" wherever I can as the magic system is usually screwed up.
Here it's not an absolute. without relying on magic at all, it's impressive and stable. If you have a DEDICATED magical character...he could be ridicilously powerful.

wonderful, now the legions of fools can figure out how that impossible, stupid looking map out of 50 or so has to be done in one shot and once they get lucky they cry "SKILL!WONDERFUL!" and laud the game, even though it's shoddy design and pure luck. Glorious.
Ugh. Terrible controls and responsiveness. Dude is runnins miles away from the ball while Itell him to run FOR the ball, he just keeps going. Passes are awkward too, changes are non-existant, and tackles are random.It's just like the newer FIFA games :-\.
