There's a nice little nod to the first game on the highway part of the game. I would also like to add on to DentalHygiene's comment that Cochetta's auto shotgun can kill most zombies in 1-2 shots when damage is maxed and the only bad thing about the LMG is the reload time. Also, if you max pistol damage, it does enough damage to mutants to get them off your hood, but only if necessary.
