It lags on higher levels (45+), and that makes the movementbased 'upgrades' frustrating (not as in: challenging). Otherwise, great game and great concept!!
Thought I was going to give this a 4/5, but it just gets to easy when you've got 15 skillpoints and can buy 'Ultimate Mastery'. This, coupled with the slow speed, means I have to downgrade to a 3/5.
I've found that if you enter a map, check through the waves (click on the numbers at the bottom of your screen) and then exit immediatly, you'll get it in 2nd try. First one to see the strategy, then reassign skillpoints, and then breeze through.
The game needs a tactical victory, where you win by grapping states. As it is now, the perfect team is 3 hatchetmen, and just going straight for chopping up the opponents candidate.
I'll repeat my major point of criticism: the 'playing field' is to small, meaning that when you have 3-4 enemy ships, they'll eventually entangle you in meele and kill off all your crew. A Canonering strategy is made impossible by the confined quarters.
What exactly are the rules governing the meter in challenge-mode? Does it drop with time? With missed targets? Whenever you miss, or just when a target disappears? Are you punished for miscolouring??
When I, after flawless play, only manage to score 4 of the needed 5 hits on the final boss, I think the game is broken. 1/5, but only because I can't get any lower!!!
The game crashes in about 50% of the battles. A great game, but the instability maks it a 1/5. Fix stability, and you've got a 5! (Firefox, latest flash)
